I hid behind my camera for a year and only showed my hands in my recipe vids but this summer I came out from hiding and am now visually present in my videos which helped to grow my channel even faster. I love it. I cringe so hard when I look at my original videos. It was so weird for me because when I do speaking engagements, I'm so energetic, but it wasn't translating to camera. What helped me was just making as many videos as possible, and it just became more natural.

I really struggle with that first part - I want to come across as actually knowing what I'm talking about, but by worrying about it, I come off as bland, boring, and end up more nervous. I'm in the B2B space so I also want to make sure I'm not wasting anyone's time - so lots of pressure I'm putting on myself. Practice has definitely helped and it's gotten a lot better.

I struggle with the technical set ups like you mentioned, which causes me to have my mind somewhere else rather than on the content. I think knowing that I'm even in focus (with my setup I sort of have to guess and yesterday I did three videos out of focus haha) but yeah I think even using an external monitor to be sure would help... I've watched your old videos & you've improved so much over the years! One of the things I keep in mind if being more confident is to just laugh. Sometimes we have to laugh when we talk at the camera & we just blooper ourself. Eventually it builds the confidence within yourself naturally the more we keep progressing.

I struggle with my delivery. I try to speak on camera as if the viewer is sitting in front of me, in the same room. I focus on talking with someone, not at someone.
