In May 2024, I was temporarily deactivated by Uber with no explanation at first. It took a week for their safety team to get back to me, and when they did, I was shocked. A female passenger had accused me of sexual harassment. When they provided the date and time of the trip, I was devastated because I remembered the ride clearly. I thought we’d had a pleasant conversation about life, family, relationships, and even her health challenges.

I do recall, however, that the passenger repeatedly mentioned the financial strain of visiting her children and how expensive the 40+ mile Uber trip was nearly $100. It became clear to me that she may have been trying to get a refund by making a false claim.

I had dashcam footage of the ride, but surprisingly, the safety team never asked to review it. I believe they accessed the audio because they immediately reactivated my account after hearing my side of the story . Despite this, they still issued me a reprimand, which I found both unnecessary and offensive.

Since driving for Uber isn’t my full-time job, I chose not to pursue the matter further, though it’s upsetting how easily a baseless claim can disrupt someone’s livelihood.

Get a Dashcam! These Riders will lie! It happened to me but my dashcam showed the true story! Drivers need to avoid picking up Riders with low Rider ratings! Anything under 4.75 is a risk! This Driver has impeccable standards for Uber! It’s sad they don’t look at the Driver’s stats!

I had 2000 5 star in a row. These belligerent drunk riders on New Years Eve were too much much for me. It was to be my last ride after 9hours. I could not drive them 30 minutes acting the way they did. I cancelled the ride at .14 miles after one star /blocking and they threatened me refusing to get out. They said if I didn’t drive them they would report me. I followed this with a saftey report for a threat. I was retaliated against with a one star and they claimed I was intoxicated soon after. My account was deactivated and is currently on hold. This is my first time cancelling a ride. I do not drink at all. I have no recording, the Uber Hertz rental I have does not record properly. I just bought a Tesla on the 30th for Uber and needed to hit the ground running when I set up insurance and acquired a tag ion the 2nd. Now I have no way to earn. This is crazy

Dash cameras should be made mandatory if you do rideshare.Doing rideshare without a dash cam is asking for trouble.States should require cameras when on the platform

yeah one time when i 1st started a carpool passenger told me they had put i. the wrong address and they couldn’t change the address, i said ok i’ll just take too the address same difference, she canceled didn’t think anything of it, then i get a text that a passenger cancelled because i was falling asleep, what a joke uber suspended me, for 12 hours told me too go get a rest then put me back on
