Stop Doing 10k Oil Change Intervals! | VW 2.0T P0011 Common Cause & Repair

preview_player
Показать описание

Very common issue on the VW/Audi 2.0T engines. The Camshaft Adjuster Magnet often becomes gunked up and stops moving as freely. This controls the Oil Control Valve and variable timing so it can cause all kinds of Misfire codes and other issues.

Most common Cause of this; going 10k miles until you change your oil. Change your oil sooner to help avoid this issue.

Sometimes, you can get away with just cleaning it, but it's best to replace the parts and do an engine flush.

This resolves the issue most of the time.

Don't forget to change the oil and do a flush as well for best results!

Just did this on my 2015 audi A3 on Oct 19th, 23. I simply removed the camshaft adjuster magnet and blew air in the little holes with my air compressor. Chunks of oil came out, and then the magnet moved freely. After this my car is running sooo much smoother. Ive watched 1000 MQB platform videos and none ever mentioned this repair. So cheers to you! And thank you for making the video.

This is the exact same part that my 2018 A5 coupe needs. The Audi dealership wants to charge me $692.50 to replace a $40 dollar part wow smh. My car is experiencing rough idle and erratic rpm’s. Glad I came across your informative video

Dude you just seriously saved my ass with my 2013 Jetta GLI - I had the same issue and also was doing my oil changes at 10K per the dealer service dept recommendation. Not ANY MORE! Thanks for posting such a helpful video.

Thanks for the video. I've got no codes or anyting but I have a oil leak here. Will get a new camshaft adjuster magnet and gasket and try that.

It's not just shaking it to tell if it's getting stuck or faulty, sometimes they go bad and start reading phase position wrong causing all sorts of issues and hard starts low power. Nice video tho bro

how would you recommend clean the adjustor, and the solenoid? What would be the best product that you recommend? Thanks!

The spool valve needs torquing to 35nm otherwise you will run into cam advancement faults and oil pressure issues

Thank you for the video! Out of curiosity, what did you clean them with? I'm going to try and clean mine until my parts come in. Thank you for your time!

So the front is the canshaft magnetic adjuster? I have a leak out of the one closest to the firewall. Same procedure? Is that also a camshaft magnetic adjuster ?

I have a 2015 Audi A4 2.0T the car first gave me the code P11A100 “Cam shift actuator A cylinder 1” and then later on it gave me a code P000A00 “A camshaft position slow response (Bank 1)”,

The problem thar I’m having is that when the car is warm and I have it parked at idle, it seems like it vibrates a little more than it should but nothing to go crazy about but then when I turn the rear windshield defroster on with everything else of the HVAC off then the car starts vibrating on and off on and off and very hard, and it vibrates a little bit more when I use the window switches or the headlights, I though it could be this camshaft adjuster magnet since the codes are related to the camshaft but the problem to me seems more with electrical stuff, I already replaced the camshaft position sensor and it didn’t make any difference

Essa tampa e essa válvula do video quando estão em mau estado pode causar alguma trepidação ao relantim? É que estou com esse sintoma no meu vw golf 7 gti

Is that a torx you use to take the magnetic cover off and of so, what size is it? I have everything to do the job now but this one piece. Gonna do it this weekend, hopefully 🙏
