Workout motivation can be… a little hard to come by sometimes. Finding that little piece of inspiration that gives you fitness motivation, and then STAYING motivated to work out and keep up with a healthy lifestyle… that’s even harder to come by. The concept of “motivation” is pretty elusive, especially when you’re talking about something so random as workout motivation, or fitness motivation, or even just healthy lifestyle motivation. In this video I share 5 tips for getting motivated to workout, and a few tricks that make it easier to STAY motivated (which is the hardest part!)

What inspired me to get out there and walk almost every day was getting the news that my blood sugar was high and my cholesterol was high and I have pre-diabetes. If I don't do something I'll have diabetes soon. I don't want to have to do insulin shots if I don't have to. So, the next morning I started out with a short 10 min walk around the little block near my house. Did that again that afternoon. Did that for a week, twice a day. Went a bit farther the next week, twice a day. Got MyFitnessPal on my phone. Got a Garmin activity monitor as a gift from my brother who was worried about my health. I'm now doing at least 30 mins walks a few times a week with some 1 to 2 hour walks in the large natural park nearby to our area. I have walking poles to help myself over the roots, rocks and gravel that I might trip on. Music helps on the shorter, neighbourhood walks. My husband helps on some walks to give somebody to talk to and share things with. But it's a case of, if I don't do it, I will pay for it with my long term health consequences. That's motivation enough. Sometimes you just need a huge wake up call like that. I'm 249 lbs now, down from 265 lbs 8 weeks ago. So, it's coming off. Eating well, feeling healthy and happy. I sleep better, my eczema on my back has cleared up, my numbness in my feet and toes has gone away, I can walk up the stairs without huffing and puffing and I know I'm doing the right thing. Good on you for helping show us it can be fun to get out there and get motivated. Keep up the good work!! Maybe a video about medical conditions that may necessitate exercise or that exercise would really help? And why it'd help.

I watch youtube instead of regular me I've seen a lot of great videos and a lot of bad ones. You have great talent for this! I love your style of editing and I think you should really pursue being a YouTuber! I wish you had more videos 😊

One way i keep myself most motivated is a motivation board, i hung a cork board in my kitchen and wrote my goals out as well as my before and after pictures to date. That keeps me on track almost always. Another i stay motivated is with reward, like if i can workout x amount of days and maintain my healthy eating i can treat myself. (normally a message or pedicure, there my favorite). Those two things have helped immensely.
So excited to see what is ahead for this channel, thank you for sharing with us!! :)

You motivated me to run once (30 mins) per week, now also workout twice (30 mins) per week! I am slim and I easily get tired doing my job (I'm a violin student). I realized I need more and stronger arm muscles to be able to bear the 3-hour daily practicing without getting injured, so I watch your video to motivate myself, like previously with running.

I have tried jogging multiple times in the past but I never continued doing it. After watching this video (and installing the Couch to 5K app (which is absolutely brilliant) about two hours ago I now find myself feeling energetic after my first run in ages. Each time I have started jogging earlier I have been motivated, but I never felt the motivation this strong. Thank you!

Hi Caty! I've been enjoying your videos for awhile now and it has kept me motivated not only physically but also mentally✨.

I got to admit, it has been difficult for me to start a new healthy lifestyle and staying fit in general. But after watching your videos, I am more determined and inspired to continue being healthy despite the obstacles I will have to face.

I loveee your videos & I hope you continue making more of them to be a role model to people like me ☺️

And as a video suggestion, could you please do a beginner workout routine or a beginner workout guide for us beginners😅? I've always wanted to start working out but whenever I do, I am lost and do not know what I am doing nor whether it's right or wrong. Therefore, you could be a big help to me and others who are in the same position as me😄.

Thank you! 💜

I love the google planning idea! I always write it down somewhere but seem to lose track and that is such a more organized method haha. Also I have started going to yoga classes they offer on base and I absolutely love it! (Not naked though)😂 My tip is probably an obvious one but it is just to be persistent. Back home I was going to college, working a job, and still found time to go to the gym. Starting working out is always the hardest part; those first couple of weeks. After I got into the routine of it though it started to become something I really enjoyed and it was a way I was able to release stress from work or school.

My number one tips is also to treat it as a job! And on top of that, having healthy meals already planned out and ingredients bought (so that way I don't resort to just eating something quick and unhealthy)

Your videos are my workout motivation. And it's a human nature to see that other people are also having the same problems as ourselves and that too gives a motivation in some sense. ( Feeling of not being alone )
