MacBook Air M3 | Buy or Skip?!

The new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops have arrived with the latest Apple M3 processor. Not only are these notebooks the most powerful MacBook Airs yet, but they’re also the most affordable M3 MacBooks. As great as these devices are, however, you might not need one — especially if you own or price out the previous M2 models. Let’s look at reasons to buy or skip based on my MacBook Air M3 review.

For students and casual light users, buy any available M1/M2 old stock or discounted MBA or MBP13 you can find at good discount and within your price point. They will most likely be the base models with 8GB RAM/256GB SSD.

For more serious users, again, find old stock M1 Pro/M2 Pro or go for the new M3 Pro MacBook Pro. Just find one with at least 16GB RAM (M3 PRO will have 18GB RAM) and 512GB SSD.

For Pros, you know what you want and can pay for.

I’ve seen the M2 MacBook Air 15” with 161tb on sale at Best Buy for $200-300 off. Before the new airs came out they were on sale for $400 off.

I’m debating between the M2 air and the $2000 M3 pro.

I'd probably consider replacing an older MacBook Pro with one of these new M3 Airs. Apple has the edge in almost every category... but they need to really step it up with gaming.
