You could easily cross multiply and apply a square root to both sides so you avoid the need of the quadratic formula (just putting it out there to help save time). Note you probably have to use the + or - when rooting so you'll have two different values.

0.55 m would have been answer if both the charges were positive.

sir at 9.34 in the video if instead of expanding the bracket, a square root is applied on both sides of the equation and then solved for X, wouldn't it be easier ? but in this case there is only one answer of X (X = 5.45) obtained.

I got the wrong answer by labeling R for q1 to be (x+1) and R for q2 = (x). Why is this not the same result?

BALANCED inertia/INERTIAL RESISTANCE is fundamental. c squared CLEARLY and necessarily represents balanced acceleration---a dimension of SPACE ON BALANCE in relation to what are E AND "m" (ON BALANCE !!). Consider TIME (AND time dilation) ON BALANCE. Hence, what is a TWO dimensional surface OR SPACE ON BALANCE is (CLEARLY) invisible AND VISIBLE SPACE in fundamental equilibrium AND BALANCE. The stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky ON BALANCE, AND consider what is the speed of light (c) ON BALANCE. Consider what is THE EYE AND what is the BLUE SKY (ON BALANCE). ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is CLEARLY AND NECESSARILY proven to be gravity (ON/IN BALANCE). E=mc2 is taken directly from F=ma. Accordingly, ON BALANCE, the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches it's revolution. GREAT !!!

its a little easier cross multiplying and then dividing by x^2 both sides then divide by 12 both sides to get x's on 1 side and constants on other. then square root both sides and cross multiply again and isolate x on one side and factor by x on that side. then divide both sides by what is left you get the same answer.

what If i have negative charge of maybe -90 and a +50 micro coulumbs..to find the position where E will be zero do I use the math concept that +50 is larger than -90 .
.or do I ignore the -ve sign??

Hi, when I first had a go at the problem I didn't set up a diagram of the electric fields and where the fields might equal zero. I assumed that the field would be zero at some point between the two charegd particles, in doing this I assumed the radius of the rightmost particle to be (1-x) rather than (x-1), is it possible to get the right answer this way or do you need to first evaluate in which regions where the field could be zero.

9:45, If you would right here square root both sides you would get rid of the whole quadratic solution and even the two values at the end, this would actually become a lot of calculation efficient and time-saving
