In this video I will explain what is an electric field. An electric field exerts a force on a charged place in the field, can be detected by placing a charged in the field and observing the effect on the charge. The strength of the field is proportional to the inverse of R^2 and the electric field lines have magnitude and direction.

I have a question for you: I am developing the idea for a new transportation system that creates 0 pollution because it runs on gravity and the "train cart" (slides down an inclined plane at avg 255km/hr and is lifted by an electric motor at the final destination) Do you think an object moving 255km/hr+ could cause an electric field to have more energy potential and be able to create more electricity than a stationary Generator?

I think attractive electric field b/w opposite charges is due to lower space/energy density in the region b/w like charges. Repulsive electric field b/w like charges is due to higher space/energy density. It is analogous to air baloon, adding air causes push force and removing air pull force, and baloon walls move outward & inward.

Is it conceivable that charged particles, like positrons and electrons, have an impact on the expansion and contraction of space? If we were to have two points in spacetime that are contracted, the spatial symmetry between them might become perpendicular, giving rise to a repulsive force. This could offer insights into certain properties of spacetime in the presence of gravity because the non-uniform distribution of contracted space within a gravitational field might explain why an electron do not experiences a repulsive gravitational effect since gravity is a curvature of space.

Great video professor! Would you be able to help me understand HOW a field applies a force to a charge? I understand what the direction of the force will be based on the polarity of the charge…but not quite sure HOW that force is applied? Is it simply because thats fundamental to a field and thats all the interaction thats needed? If you could help explain conceptually that would be great…again amazing video!
