We all want to know how long we're going to live, right?! In this video, we'll talk about the Sit to Rise Test. It's a quick test you can do and score at home to give you a glimpse of your overall health.

This test has been shown in research to be correlated to how long you are going to live (5 year mortality rate) in older adults (ages 50+). And since then, age-adjusted norms have been published for all ages (see below). But please interpret the results cautiously!!! If you score poorly, it does not mean a death sentence!! It is only one indicator, a snap shot if you will, of your overall physical health. There are many other factors at play! And remember, all things are modifiable. So if you score poorly, it just means it's time to bring some exercise into your life! Check it out and let me know how you do!!

Oh no! I couldn’t do it and I’m only 61. Could sit down but I rolled back when I did and couldn’t get back up the same way. Thank you for giving me an idea of how fit I should be.

Going down I didn't have to touch anything but I did clearly roll back as I went all the way down. Is that a point or a half point off? Then to get up, I had to lean hard on one hand, which I assume is 1 point? Then I moved the hand across the floor as I came up. Another point?

The scoring's still just a little unclear to me. But thanks for the video!
