The coolest thing about this is that the torso-face has a full set of facial animations, so we can watch his rage towards us in real time, which we don't really get a chance to do with any other boss fight.

In hindsight, it makes sense that the trolls have hollowed out abdomens, the Giant’s separation from the Fell God in favor of the Erdtree likely left an excruciating gap in their stomachs, or were perhaps even forcibly removed to rid them of the Fell God’s symbol

The fact that the fire giant has ears in his armpits is very weird but interesting

The exposed parts of the flesh of the Fire Giant as well as the dark coloration of his fingers and foot suggest that, he was shackled and to set himself free, he burned through the metal shackles keeping him and thus burning the surface of his skin and exposing the soft flesh under

The dark coloration of his fingers and toes suggest that it's Frostbite since he's now on top of the Mountaintops of the Giants which he gets bombarded by constant blizzard storms which caused the darkness of his toes and fingers

without his hair he looks like a demon's souls boss

Both the fire giant and yhorm the giant are giants that have the ability to control fire and both guard a big cup that becomes responsible for destroying a capital. Interesting.

I actually felt kinda bad when I broke his leg, it genuinely looked like it hurt...

which is a sentence that if spoken in real life would be cause for concern.

Imagine how different the fight would have been if he had radagon's ass.

Him snapping his leg off and screaming in pain and anger is genuinely one of the most unsettling things I've seen in a FromSoft game, and that's saying something.

"O trifling giant, mayest thou tend thy flame for eternity."

In a way, this is a classic Souls boss. Poor dude is the last of his race, cursed to watch over his forge for eternity, with a gammy leg to boot....and then we come along and break said leg and force him to offer the same limb to its own Fell God for a power boost. The music in the first phase captures that tragedy, while the second phase is the desperation of a wounded giant fighting for his life.

Pay attention to his chest eye in phase 2. What it's looking at indicates who he's aiming to attack with his fire orbs, fire balls, ect.

Probably the closest ive seen to real decomposing body parts in a game character

Man, it looks like the guy got frostbite and has gangrene starting. Look at the flesh stripped away at each wrist and ankle. It really puts in perspective how nasty Marika was to the Fire Giants. This guy must be in constant agony having his flesh slowly putrify and rot away over the ages he's been cursed. In a way, it's honestly like we provide him some form of peace by finally ending his life and freeing him. That being said, I wonder if those shackle wounds aren't from physical shackles, but from the curse Marika placed on him. It looks like he has struggled greatly with whatever binds him and finally resigned to it.

If they ever introduce covenants in this game, they should make it based on which Outer God you align with. I would pick the Fell God

I also noticed a small detail,
If you summon during his boss fights
The eye tracks who he's targetting,
Like if he's targetting you he'll look at you
And if he's targetting your summon
He'll look at it

I remember gasping when the fire giant face awakened as i had been reading the lore entries and i was like ''oh shit the fell god is not gone?''.

I didn’t notice that his “eyes” are completely glazed over/covered in Cataracts, while his big eye is swirling with fire. Interesting detail!!!

The burns and frostbite are awesome minor details - The mountaintop was most likely not always covered in snow meaning the giants particularly used to that sort of climate. The burns seem to be from the forge itself.

0:52 The Fire Giant and Tarnished don't see each other eye to eye

Something I recently noticed was that one of the later areas in Elden Ring is a frozen land that was home to a race of giants. That idea's been around since Demon's Souls.
