I couldnt get the second step to work all that well (The clearing the death plane part)
I know its user error on my part, but for anyone ELSE struggling with this step, if you repeat the first part with jumping around the rock and using the Latenna Spirit, she will still be there and will take it out for you. Just slowly of course.

Just did it, worked very well. Also if you're dying on the jumping part one the first jump wait until the very last second to second jump. You need to get past a barrier.

Tried about 4 times. Not working for me. This was such an awesome game until I got to this boss three months ago. ~packs this game away for another 3 months~

I tried so much to win the second part of the fight by letting the archer lady do all the damage but couldn't pull it off. Nice to see I had a good strategy to begin with though. How I eventually beat him : land a single full use of the dragon rotten breath spell. His lifebar melted. That's it. No summon required actually. I think the reasonning is that since he tore his leg off and the remaining part of his leg is all bloody, it rots faster. Clever design.

I was able to do that cliff jump skip and I am so happy that I was able to do it and now I can play more of the game and now I can have some more fun now.

As of patch 1.07 the phase 2 part doesn’t work, phase 1 cheese still works

As of August 24th 2022 this works!! Saved me so much time, easy follow and thumbs up. Just make sure to really jump out there and wait a little longer and you’ve got it!

Might be patched. I tried several times/several places and died every time. Wasn't even able to swing when I jumped.

It took over an hour of arrows to win but it did work. I put Latenna about 200 feet to the left of the rock because the giant kept making his way over the edge. By putting her that far away and then moving to the rock where this video shows, the giant got blocked by the highest part of the formation but the archer's LOS was still good because of where she was. Thanks for the tip!!

Thanks man, the second method works for me, that glitch saved me from this shitty boss xd. Im actually doing a RL1 Run in Elden Ring with all remembrances, and i've killed literally all bosses without any glitch or ashes/summon, now there's just malenia, maliketh, godfrey and radagon.

jumping off the map still works, i learned after many attempts you have to use the double jump as far as possible to not die

at the start when i was falling dowm my sword wouldn't swing for anyone whos also having this problem press shift while swinging not sure what the console button is whatever is used to sprint on horse.
