PSA: This has been patched. A handy alt is to work on Alexander’s quest so you can summon him here! After you free him for a second time in Limgrave (after the tournament), talk to him at Mt. Gelmir where the fire drake was (for me he wasn’t in Limgrave because I progressed regions too soon, but he was in Gelmir). Exhaust his dialogue and you’ll find him on the RIGHT CHAIN entrance to the boss area. I found the fire giant was way more focused on him than my other summons. I also used the assassin summon that was suggested in the comments here. Made the boss waaayyy easier since Alexander is very tanky and the assassin does a lot of damage. Good luck!

I don't mind cheesing this fight. I get that it can be cool because he is so massive, but you pretty much can't see his attacks because you are staring at his feet.

Reminds me of the Demon of Hatred from Sekiro strategy. Key positioning, and then baiting into a critical fall. Absolute cheese for a supreme victory. Thank you again, Guru

I don't care what anyone says, if it wasn't for this glitch, he is the hardest boss in the game.

Literally has more range than me and I'm a mage, faster than me when I'm on a horse, and one shots me with every attack. I couldn't even get him to his second stage...

For everyone having issues with that boss... Black knife works wonders on him. The weapon art does percentbased damage and reduces his maximum health on top.
If you have the Blackknife Tiche spirit, it's even easier. This summon almost solo killed the boss just now

Thank you so much for this! I kept getting him to second phase fighting him normally but maaan screw that and this giant. I fouled up the second drop and he only took some damage but I made him chase me back to the middle, then again up to the rock to retry the fall. Worked like a charm.

He never just crawls to me on the second phase more like stays back and just throws fire

My favorite part is when he does every other attack except for the one i need him to do. Cheesing this boss is harding then actually fighting him.

I tried this quite a few times. As the Guru said, pay close attention where he is standing. I noticed once the giant gets to the top of the rocks, the Guru backed off and the Giant began to pursue him and stop attacking. This is how you get full damage ending phases. Thanks Guru!

I just love the fact that it makes so much sense for why his ankle broke, it really feels like intended game design
