By lengthening your neck, then pushing your head back against a wall, you open up space where the spinal nerve exits the spine. This can help relieve pain, numbness, or pins and needles in the arm.
Pushing the head back uses deep neck flexors in the spine, which reciprocally inhibits the Upper Traps and Levator Scapulae muscles.
