At 1080p if you chose 'high' in the Search Mode settings AFMF won't disable itself in fast motion for a smoother experience at the expense of visual quality. At 1440p and above Search Mode will automatically choose 'high'.

What you mean by frames duplication is called "artifacts", frame generation artifacts. It seems that AFMF2 doesn't work as well in the RX 6000 series, especially the lower end ones it seems
Also, AFMF2 seems to not disable itself anymore on RDNA3 cards (like I tested on my XTX)

RDR 2 still looks damn good all these years later.

Hey, in AFMF 2 settings there is a Search Mode where You can choose ''High'' option which doesn't allow AFMF 2 to disable itself in fast moving scenes when playing. It will make gaming experience smoother. With AFMF 1, it would disable itself when there was a lot of motion on screen because it couldn't generate a good enough frames in those kind of situations, but AMD said that AFMF 2 is improved in this area and that generated frames with AFMF 2 are higher quality now. You should try that out in the future! ;) Love Your content !

Just installed the driver yesterday and the improvements over the previous version of AFMF was huge. It's so much smoother.
Gotta give it to Nvidia though, if they hadn't pioneered frame generation tech, we wouldn't have had this. Same thing with DLSS.
They're kinda like Apple in a way, they charge a premium price for their products compared to their competitors. But unlike Apple, they actually innovate and set the trend. Apple just implements old tech and call it by a fancy new name and call it a day.
Again, kudos to AMD for continuing to support this feature and making it better. FSR 3 is not widely implemented in most games yet so AFMF will be of great help.

Thanks for the testing. A lot of us own a 6600/6650xt so this is good info. I always find it kinda odd amd frame gen needs a stable fps to work best but the whole point of it was supposed to give lower end systems a better experience but it seems like its opposite and at that point you might as well run native. seems to work good for 6600 tho and might be exactly what frame gen shines with.

For anyone having this "stuttery" feeling while having framegen enabled, based on my experience turning off anti lag somehow fixes the issue. Now I'm not saying that it's the definite solution but for me it did work, so might as well try it right?

If you record in 120fps, then upload the video in 0.5x speed in 60fps we could put it in 2x and see the video in 120fps. 😮 would be cool to see a test video on this 😅

Im also playing it at the moment with my Asus Dual RX6600, still a very good card - im getting 50 to 60 fps all the time with the graphics set to the high setting 1440p and with FSR2 quality mode enabled.

I really can't wait to see FSR 3.1 in games like Cyberpunk or Starfield so I can use FG with DLSS or XeSS on my 3060Ti. Literally the best of both worlds. AMD really is just spitting in the face of Nvidia for their RTX 40 series scam. I bet on the hopes that DLSS and FSR would continue to improve. Seems I was right! I hope you're as excited as I am about it.

Set "High" Search Mode and set "Quality".
Auto set automatically Search Mode to "Standard" and "Performance"

They dont get tired of releasing even more things to make games even more blurrier? God.

Should have set search mode to high, and performance to quality. Also, afmf 2 works better on the 7000 series due to them having ai accelerator. I tried rdr2 on 7800xt no janky experience. Lords of the fallen was smooth, cyberpunk was smooth, ghost of Tsushima smooth. This is also just the first preview release, im quite impressed tbh. Visual artifacts like weapon cursor ghosting will be fixed with more updates. Overall a good experience and it is free.

Lossless Scaling is available for Nvidia users btw, too bad it doesn't support gsync/VRR. Still very good program if you can ensure you always maintain FPS equal to 1/2 or 1/3 of your refresh rate in whatever particular game.
