Lossless scaling frame gen 3 just came out today!! I tried it with RE4 remake and RDR2. Much better than frame gen v2. Also I was enjoying AMF2 a lot before with higher frame rates but more screen tearing and stutters. Don’t have that and with minimal lag for this new loseless scale update, so now I think it’s better than AMF2!

You are using lossless scaling incorrectly. You need to lock the frame rate at half your refresh rate and also at a frame rate you can consistently attain. i.e. lock at 40 for 80 FPS, or 60 for 120fps.

Your lossless scaling is stuck at 60 FPS as you need to include tearing on the options. This happend to me too!

Try clicking draw fps on lossless scaling thats ur issue l4d2 on rog ally gets almost 600-700 on rog ally after messing with the values on lossless

I use AFMF, sparingly because sometimes the game doesn't work well with stutters. I like Lossless Scaling, but it causes extra steps. And I go between my handheld mode and my TV often so I rather go with the more seamless approach even if it's not as good.

I don’t know how lossless scaling rolls with 24 gigs of RAM, but I just ran 5x frame generation with 32 gigs of RAM & the results were crazy. The newest update for Lossless scaling allows you to literally choose any level of frame generation you want. I tried 5x on a few games. I didn’t even make it to 6x. 5x frame gen was crazy enough. Whatever side effects you could experience from running it mostly relates to your processing power tbh. But any 32 gigs of RAM device has a ton of processing power.

I been using lossless scaling last few days. I use AFMF2 (I didn't change the setting) vsync off combined with lossless scaling combined. Artifacts are noticeable when your on stairs or gates/fences. But can't wait for the 3.5 or 4.0 in next few months

You tested with an old version of lossless scaling. Try the new one that came out on 10 January 2025. The head glitching thing is gone and the performance is a LOT better

Hey Pete this is a bit off topic, have you ever had issues with TV flickering (on and off blank screen) when docked?

With Steam Deck has little issues but with Ally X is heavily flickering

Check out LSFG 3.0, make sure there is not some software limiting its framerate, also USING SCALING (LS1) at native resolution is wrong because it upscales your already fullscreen image which is pretty demanding, you have to turn off scaling and then use LSFG. Also something is locking Lossless scaling FPS to 60. Furthermore resolution scale pretty much helps you get better performance with little To NO quality difference, so i recommend setting it to 70 or 80 if you run 1080p or 1200p, 50% for 1440p and 30-50% for 4k
