Dying is not a problem. For me the problem lies in the death of loved ones.

Energy can never die. We are infinite consciousness. So I'm not afraid myself of dying. It just that, from a human perspective, it makes me feel sad to leave my family and friends incarnation in here. Same way around. Even if I know we will meet again. But hey, dealing with the darkest feelings is part of being human. Just enjoy the journey as it comes.

Death used to be one of my biggest fears until I started making myself ponder it everyday. Love his insight!

Someone very important to me died a week ago. Yesterday i was watching your videos and was thinking that I would have loved a video with you talking about death and how to deal with grief. And today here it is! Thank you so much for this video and these words!!

My fear of death was a manifestation of my clinging and attachment to my egocentric self-identity and my desire to have it continue in time. And the more awareness was placed on my clinging and attachment to any desired thing or outcome, the less fear reared its ugly head. Clinging and attachment were the seeds for the fears that they spouted.

This is good, thanks 👍, and I would be interested in seeing a longer video to explain in greater depth of HOW to actually face death & dying. (And i think a video like this could help many people, actually)

For me life is like being on a train. You know where you'll end up. Some people spend life looking out the window with a blank expression, and others spend the time growing as a person. I strive to be the latter and make my time on the train worthwhile.

Also check out the stoic idea of memento Mori for more on the same kind of idea.

I’m here after a break down thinking about dying and I just want to believe it’s not a big deal but I can’t stop thinking about being nothing when I die

In reality, when we die we wake up(from this dream) and reunite with our soul family, our eternal nature :) I experienced personally but i was told it wasn't my time, i still had a lot more playing and teaching to do on earth :) Just like when you wake up from a good nights sleep, its a very similar experience. Sooner or later life on earth feels like a good nights sleep so enjoy it while you can because in the end you will not want to say to yourself "why did i take things so seriously?", you want to be grateful for the experience!

Death is the great liberator, not only from our physically existence but also from carrying useless items in our inner lives, because it reminds us of the fleetingness of life and what's important and what's not so important.

I don't think it's death that people are afraid of, but rather it's the pain behind it, wether physical, mental, or spiritual.

Kind Minyur Rinponche

If I can kindly ask anyone who is an Engelbert fan to say a prayer for him and his family, especially his wife Patricia and son Jason. They are all badly ill with the covid virus and have been fighting it for over a week. Only just now he kindly asked for a prayer chain for healing be sent to his home and to all those inflicted with the virus. He is a faithful believer in the power of prayers. Blessings to those who will take a moment to pray for their healing.

I'm not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens.

I really liked the allusion to using death to meditate. There are actually many different 'things' one can meditate on, the most basic being the breathing in and out. Death is not normally introduced to lay people as a meditation form, maybe because it is connected to something wasted, unclean etc. Make more videos like these, living in Europe soo far from my Buddhist roots I feel half of me is dead. That Ven. Rinpoche could bring the actual essence of Pali teachings through English where many others fail, is the icing on the cake!

Death and life are part of eternal life. Without death there is no life, without life no death. Death is like sleeping, we need to sleep to replenish ourselves for the next day, similarly we die to replenish our lives for the next journey.
