Acts 15:29
That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Amen

I always wanted to get a big cross tattooed on my arm, but never did. Never felt it was the right thing to do. Plus they’re painful and expensive. And tattoos can mess with your blood as you get older.

Our lives should be lead by the holyspirit. I just don’t see the holy spirit leading me to a tattoo parlour, but if i yield to the flesh I can surely end up their while claiming my faith as an excuse. Your body belongs to God let him determine what goes on it. If you had it before giving your life to the Lord then fine, but if you desire it now where did that desire come from? Is it from above or from below???
The influence does not come from Godly roots and unfortunately we are emulating ungodly people in their pattern of living.
I pray that we can discern whether tattoos please God or our selves. Shalom my sister. I pray for you that you will excel in the knowledge of the one who called you for he is holy (set apart).

Thank you for considering the context of the verse and for calling fellow Christians to consider the heart/motivation behind the desire to get a tattoo! There is no black and white answer. There are biblical convictions/standards, aka preferences built from scriptures and personal life experiences, but those are personal and don’t apply to all.

I haven’t ever gotten a tattoo because I was taught as a child “my body is a temple” and that to tattoo it is to essentially graffiti it…lol I don’t think it’s bad to abstain from tattoos, but I do think it’s bad to take verses out of context and twist them to fit your narrative.

The question you should be asking is... Does it feel like tattoos are from The Lord?.. I've asked many people this before, and mind you.. I have many tattoos.. No, one could tell or convince me, that tattoos are from a good place.. or from the Lord. . Tattoos are a gateway.. or a door.. or what ever you would like to call an opening in your spirit.. and sometimes, you can't handle, what you invited though that door

Leviticus 19:28 is a direct command from the Lord.
It is NOT OKAY to get a tattoo as a Christian!

I disagree with this. I know MANY believers when it comes to tattoos and this passage (Lev 19:28) who say context is key and I agree context IS key! But with this passage we CLEARLY see tattoos stem from demonic roots. The word of the Lord does NOT change. We are called to be Holy and treat our bodies like His temple. At the end of the day tattoos is glorifying YOURSELF! You can have an “innocent” tattoo on yourself but you’re doing what your flesh wants. And as believers we know our bodies are not OURS it belongs to God! Ask yourself this if Christ was with you would He sit with you while you’re getting tatted? Lol I’m sure He’d have something to say.

Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

It's a yes and no situation, it is a sin, however, if the person who didn't know about this, comes seeking Christ, I won't be all over him just because of the tattoos, rather would go and help him seek Christ.

Does it frustrate any other God-fearing men when people speak with authority on what is right or wrong simply because they use one verse and talk about it isn't related? 'Prostitution is sin according to the law, but since it's talking to a specific people group in different context then making an only fans is actually okay as long as your intentions are pure since it isn't the type of Prostitution being talked about in leviticus'... quite literally what I am getting from this.

Tattoos were rites and ceremonies with which people expressed their sorrow at their funeral. The heathen did so to pacify the infernal deities they dreamt about, and to render them favorable to their deceased friend. God commanded that this must not be imitated by His people. His people, whom the God of Israel had set apart for Himself must not receive the image and superscription of these worthless deities, and therefore must not make cuts or prints in their flesh. Such practices were signs of rebellion against God Himself.

I believe if you came to God with tats no problem. I think if you're spirit filled and you get a tat for me this person can forfeit godly enfluence for myself but at same time gain it with a nonbeliever. But like you said god looks at the ❤ heart

God said, No Tattoos. It is a sin. No one is worthy enough to change his word or his laws. We are all sinners and have all come short of God's glory. If you were unaware at the time that it was a sin, then you are covered by grace. If you decide to still have a tattoo, then you are accountable, and God will judge you for this sin when he feels fit. No disrespect to anyone Ahman

You should not get tattoos, just think about any situation like this “What Would Jesus Do?” Would Christ get a tattoo no, should you get a tattoo, no.

Our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit and we are to treat them that way ‼️

God don't want you to have tattoos IN ALL CONTEXT. Out bodies are Gods property is loaned. Cherish it and care for it. Tattoos serve to practical purpose anyway. You want a Tattoo, get a temporary one, but do not damage something is not fully yours

We don’t even live under mosaic law anymore. Leviticus states no tattoos but in context it’s in reference to worshipping false gods. Not to mention ten verses prior it says that wearing clothing made of 2 different materials is a sin.

Romans 14 : 23 “What is not of faith is sin.” People’s opinions varies in food, clothes, make up, tattoos, etc., many physical/material things. The only thing that truly matters is what God says/thinks. What it represents & why you want a tattoo. Ask yourself…does it honor God? Does it represent God? Why should I do this?

If a tattoo has religious and personal importance to god and yourself then there is nothing wrong with getting one
