I was a tattoo artist before I had a real encounter with Yeshua. Shortly after that, I had deep convictions to leave the job I worked my life to achieve and started to see how deeply evil and prideful the industry is. Romans 12:2 and Philippians 3:8 showed me that I needed to leave it all behind. It was in that decision to follow the Holy Spirits convictions and my obedience that my faith was deepened significantly and started me on a path of trust! Now Yah uses my past and heavily tattooed appearance to reach the black sheep, the misfits, and those that are in that lifestyle to show the transformation power of my Risen Savior!
(I do not get or condone getting tattoos when you profess the name of Yeshua, just because the tools and artistry has become more sophisticated doesn’t mean that act of tattooing isn’t demonic and rooted in Baal worship)

This is the BEST answer on this question I've ever preached. I completely agree. Hallelujah! Before I was born again, I had put tattoos and piercings on my body. I believe tattoos are a type of lust of the flesh. Ask anyone who has a tattoo, you can't just have one, right? Even though the tattoo hurts, most people will get more. Especially now in the way our culture is. If you really want to be rebellious, DONT get any tattoos. I encourage anyone who has tattoos before they were born again, don't get anymore. For those who want to, please don't do it.

I am a tattoo artist and I felt like my purpose was to share the word of god to people I tattoo! I eventually want to tattoo only portraits of people that have lost someone or tattoos that spread the word of Christ, now I’m pondering on weather I should stop all together :( I have portraits that helped me cope when I lost my father my daughter and cousins and they brought me closer to God. Thank you for making this clear, i always thought that you should not tattoo yourself in honor of a dead person because of the way the verse is written in some bibles but this explanation makes way more sense.
