Thank you so very much for passing this valuable info along to people like me who didn’t have a clue. And back in early 2000s the internet still wasn’t what it was then, like it is today.. vast knowledge just by pointing and clicking.

Thank you!!!! My system was blowing warm air intermittently at stops but mostly blowing cold again when driving, during a tire repair I had Firestone perform a $9.99 AC performance check, got the car back blowing warm air all constantly, manger tells me I brought in with a malfunctioning compressor clutch and it just died the day I brought it in convientiently the same day he quoted me $1200 for a new one!!!

I asked what they did during their AC performance check and was told just checked the functioning of the compressor's clutch via an electrical test, this video is VERY INFORMATIVE for what they should have/could have done to make my car start blowing warm air.

I'm a single mom and they're trying to take me to the bank, I'm going higher at Firestone or I'm getting a second opinion about a my AC system in my 2011 Kia Optima before I pay anyone a dime for a new compressor. I am madder than a wet hen!!!

Took my car to AAA Auto Repair Center on Tully Rd in San Jose to repair the air conditioning. They told me that the compressor was bad (which I had already figured out since it had a frozen clutch..couldn't push it in by hand while engine was off). I know compressors cost about $300 but they were going to charge me over $1500 to replace it. Then, later, they called me and said they would have to also replace the receiver drier and that would cost another $400 or so. So, after I went back to pick up the car, I looked under the hood and saw a nice shiny new compressor but couldn't see the receiver drier until I got home. Turns out that the receiver drier is like welded to the side of the condenser and has a plug on the bottom that needs to be removed in order to insert a cloth-like cylindrical shaped tampon-looking "drier" that takes moisture out of the system. That's all they did...and they charged me over $1900. The drier "tampon" can be bought at auto stores for from $15 to $35. And the compressor can be bought for about $300. My car is a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. Once you take off the splash panel under the engine of the car and look up at the bottom of the "condenser", on the driver's side of the vehicle, you can see and access the "receiver drier" plug to remove an then to insert the "tampon". I couldn't drain the coolant into a collector before removing those parts so I had to have all this work done by "professionals". Funny, not, how the government will fine you big bucks if you let the coolant escape which helps contribute to global warming but they have no problem sabotaging gas pipelines like the Nordstream pipeline which belched tons of gas into the atmosphere for many days! It's no wonder we are having high, record, temperatures. Wars don't help either. Same thing happened after WWI and WWII..record high temperatures worldwide! Thanks a lot Putin...you son of a b...!!! Putin needs a "b" to the head!!!

This video just proved I don't have a blower motor problem. As a matter of fact all I need is freon.I went thru step by step with another mechanic. Blower motor just blowing real loud and good.

Went to an aircon service and it took them 10 minutes to tell me my compressors is shot, I did have a blown fuse and replaced it before I took it there, never ever refilled the aircon since the car was bought but will go through the stages of advice you've shown me in the video. Thanks for the advice.

This is a great video. It’s not helpful to anyone that are not familiar with cars? Which is why people come to You Tube. To find simple answers and easy fixes. If not easy? At least understandable. But oh is very thorough.

First off, love the channel, and your easy to understand repairs and methods. THANK YOU AND KEEP THEM COMING. My 2002 Merc Benz S430 (W220) A/C stopped working after I replaced the windshield wiper hose (with the heater wire/ cable inside). The unit small red light is on indicating the system works, but will not blow cold air. The clutch does engage, on then off, constantly. The typical reset feature/ trick doesn't work for whatever this error is currently. I checked the relays/ switched and replaced them as well. Assuming the system may have been low on refrigerant, I filled it with what it took in, which appeared to be almost two full "tall" cans of AC Pro. Reset the system and the air came on "absolutely freezing cold" for about two minutes then shut off again. After resetting and attempting to make it stay on, it wouldn't reset anymore after four attempts. I noticed a clear liquid had leaked from the bottom center of the car down the driveway to the rear of the car, no smell or color, but thicker than water.

The next day, with the engine running and the air refilled and reset once more, I heard a loud hissing and bursting flow of air or spray from under the hood, front drivers side for about 40 seconds then stopped. I believe it was a pressure relief vale of some sort !!! Scared the &%$#@^& %$#%^&%#@ out of me to be exact. The clutch still engages, on then off, constantly. Whats wrong with the cars AC What would you recommend I check or replace???? No AC for the past four months now...

I have a bit of an odd situation and thought you might shed some light on it. My wife's 01 Kia Rio at this point cannot accept the 22 ounce full recharge despite replacing the expansion valve and filter drier. I can get about 6 oz or so of freon in and the gauges are reading 30 on the low side and 150 on the high and anything above this reading the compressor starts cycling. There is some cooling but it's minimal. Everything else seems fine. My thoughts are a clogged condenser or weak compressor. The compressor readings do seem to react accordingly to the level of freon. Any help would be appreciated.
