Getting my Leopard Gecko! | Vlog

This is a Vlog where I go pick out and purchase a leopard gecko. Don’t wanna spoil the vid too much but I got her on June 3rd from a locally owned pet shop. She has been great so far and has been adapting well and she is eating well. If you want me to do an update video on her I will!

reptile carpet is very bad for there claws and can harbor bacteria. 70% topsoil and 30% play sand mix is ideal (leo gecks like to “burrow” so 3-6 inches of substrate is best). also a 40 gallon tank is recommended. 3+ hides or hiding spots is also recommended. adding more clutter like leaves and such provide more coverage and enrichment

Hi! I know I’m a few years late and I hope your gecko is doing well! Just a few tips: maybe get a different hide instead of the container because the gecko can cut themselves on the part of the container you cut open because it is pretty sharp. Also maybe get some miss and make sure there is a warm side and a cold side on the sides of the tank. Also this is optional but I think it would be better for your gecko if your got a 15-20 gallon tank. That was just my opinion so yeah!

Hi, I also have a Leopard Gecko and I just wanted to let you know that you should probably upgrade the leopard geckos cage when he gets a bit bigger. I don’t know if you were already planning on doing this but the kid is pretty small for an adult, but it is great for the size that you have right now. I have a nice day.

If her color is faded it could also be a temperature change, the petstore might not have her in a warm enough enclosure, if she’s more on the gray color side, she will probably be shedding

It took my leopard gecko 2 weeks to eat mealworms so it's normal for them not to eat for the first week or so

When they shed it doesn’t mean if you’re stressed out it just means is the time that they are shutting it has nothing to do with being stressed out

You should get a bigger thank and also you gotta keep it at the proper temperature. Just bcuz it’s not warm to you dosent means it’s too cold for the gecko gotta remember they stay in there all day pretty much, so they will soak in all the heat more than you think they will, not trying to sound rude trying to help

Bay leopard geckos will always be skittish. When they grow up they will become less skittish

Not sure if this is still an issue, but you can zip tie the cord to the top cover.

If your gecko is having problems shedding fill a container with some warm water and put your gecko in it and cover the lid for 15-20 minutes
