Thanks for sharing this excellent video. I have a sharp frost free refrigerator that make the whistling sound when I close the doors and water on the trays. Will the same principles apply. Thanks. Fred

Good job thank you. Pls I really need to know what happened if I just remove the fan completely without replacing it. Mine is the top fan making the noise.

Sometimes it's just frost on the fan. If freezer door is left open condensation will accrue and eventually freeze. As the dude says in the video. If this is the case you may not need to replace anything. Turn off unit remove panel and dry with hair dryer. If fan turns without resistance then put cover back on after everything is dry and see if that works.

Would a faulty evaporative fan in the fridge side make a rattly noise then stop the fridge from cooling?

Hi there! There is no tank in my freezer, but I can see ice in the vents so am currently defrosting. Once defrosted, can I go ahead and remove the cover of the evaporator fan even though there is no tank? Thanks so much for this tutorial! 😊

One thing that wasn't mentioned was when you have too much food in the freezer that blocks the air circulation causing loud noise. That was my case.

Its weird, I get a rattle after my compressor kicks on, but its isolated to the freezer. When I have the evaporator fan going by itself I get no noise. I pulled the back panel and there's no ice, or blockage. Plus, the unit seems to just keep running now and the fridge sensor/thermostat isnt shutting it off- Not sure what is going on. Condenser coils are clean and gaskets are sealed.

One thing you didn't mention is to make sure the appliance is disconnected from the mains 😊, overall great video

You said if there's ice behind the cover of the evaporator fan you should let it defrost but you didn't mention that if there is ice behind there most likely is a problem isn't there? What would cause that icing ice that basically can cause the fan to hit against it

Surely the first thing to do when working on any electrical appliance is to ensure that it is disconnected from the mains?

This doesn't really address the issue of how to remove stubborn panties if you're currently using a noisy refrigerator.
