2023 Samsung Fridge Ice & Noise Fix

Samsung Refrigerator RFG297HDRS (2013 model)
Knocking noises coming from top of fridge due to ice buildup in back panel and ice maker.
Need to activate Refrigerator Defrost (code Rd)
Pull out bottom shelf and put a towel there to catch defrost water & also need to empty Ice Tray. Put a towel in ice maker compartment if have ice buildup.
Push buttons Energy Saver +Fridge for about 8 seconds – screen will change.
Push Lighting button – keep pushing to get to code “Rd”.
Beeping will be heard.
Allow for beeping/defrost for 1 hour. BUT it may turn itself back on with the beeping stopping after 45 minutes. If not then, push Energy Saver+Power Saver. It should turn on. (Push these again if it shows OFF because the OFF is Demo mode and compressor is not on)
Repeat as needed and may do weekly or monthly to defrost the back panel and ice maker, which will stop the knocking noises.

Okay, I got it to work!! The buttons were harder to press than I thought. The fridge is now set to defrost, but it’s still beeping. Is it suppose to do that?

My noise wasn’t beeping. It was more of a grinding noise. Then the ice maker stopped working.

This won’t work if the ice is in the upper right corner. You need to install another heater in that area.

Galti se bhi Samsung ka fridge mat le lena, kal mere ghar blast huya aur samsung ka fridge back side fat Gaya. Mera double wala hain . Upper wala hissa bahar nikal aaya back se. 40000 liya tha. PCB demage Gaya. 2 saal phele liya tha . Nov 2022
