I used a smart-plug and programmed it to turn off my refrigerator for 1hr everyday between 1-2am. I tried every damn DIY fix for this problem but only smart-plug method fixed this issue permanently. No more fan noise or ice buildup for me for past 6 months. Food stays just fine and it save electricity too. Thank me later ! 😊

Should never have ice buildup on a frost free unit. Defrost issue.

Got issue as most fridges for many years should have auto defrost so either sensor heating element bad

Should always have an even thin pattern of frost. I see that is inches thick reaching the fan.

Since this evaporator looks like a Frigidaire or whirlpool design. Need to check out that one because it’s very different. Heating element looks like an oven element

Alright I checked everything. The vents, the coils, the heating rod, the defrost timer, the fan and my fridge still isn’t cold. I’m starting to get pissed off. I don’t understand why it’s not getting cold. The air getting pushed down from the freezer to the fridge works fine. It’s been almost 8 hours and my Fckn fridge is still warm. I need Fckn help or imma bout to lose my shit cuz I just bought this stupid piece of 💩

Nice even frost pattern but the fan hits the ice... needs the defrost system to work. If it isn't the element, check the thermal overload and thermostat.
