This is the absolute best recipe which, as a former New Yorker I can attest, is closest to that served in New York City's Chinatown. Chef Wong should be hailed (as should Business Insider) for sharing what is probably the better part of his secret!

I have smoked ribs for probably fifteen years, always have gotten mixed results (some excellent/some not) but have gotten 100% consistent results with this recipe. It's simple and fast, the only "delay" as such being the absolutely necessary 48 hours to marinate. And also key is brushing on the honey to both sides, AND ALWAYS PUTTING BOTH SIDES UNDER THE BROILER (keep a careful watch/don't burn) to caramelize the honey. If you do this right they will come out dark and delicious as in the video.

Thank you again, Chef Wong. If I were still in NY it would be mandatory for me to visit your restaurant as I'm sure all of your cuisine is delicious!

PS: The only change I made was to omit the salt!

Looks great. Just curious why serve bone side up? Also do you glaze both sides with honey?

Used it and nailed it, better than the Chinese restaurants!

No broiling at all? How do you get the blackened look?

I thought Hoisin sauce was the Chinese BBQ sauce. Where do you get Chines BBQ sauce? I can't find anything like that around where I live.

Honey must be the worst kept secret ingredient ever!

This is American-Chinese Food, not Chinese. And honey is NOT a secret ingredient. It is very common!

Chinese ribs are always served chopped into bite sized pieces to aid chopstick usage. Never as whole ribs.

UNLIKE AMERICAN RIB BBQ WHICH DOESN'T BOIL THE RIBS BEFORE GRILLING, AS FALLING OFF THE BONE IS NOT A FAVORITE WAY FOR SOUTHERN BBQ!
