Why you should buy the Galaxy S8 right now.

Forget the Galaxy S9, right now is an amazing time to get the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus! In terms of Battery, Camera, and Speed, there may not be a better option. The S8 and S8+ have Android Oreo, 4K video recording and an Amazing Display.

I don't really get all the fuzz about the fingerprint scanner. I own the S8+ and I'm perfectly happy with its placement. Once you own the device, muscle memory kicks in and there's no trouble confusing it with the camera. Tech reviewers only use this device for a couple of days/weeks for their review, too short to get used to it I think.
As a 2 meter tall male with probably bigger hands than most people, I understand it might be difficult to reach for smaller people/females. But the normal S8 should be fine for most right?

the real "budget flagship" right now are Galaxy Note FE, it's galaxy Note 7 re-branded but it only cost about $450-550 brand new

Even tho I just had some screen burn-ins some days ago, I love my S8. I have it for almost a year now. Quality phone, great camera, not a bad battery life. But it's not as smooth as for example the Pixel phones. But still, I recommend it to everyone.

I've had my S8 for almost 12 months. I love it. Ain't had a major problem. Gets slow once a week if I'm lucky but I do use my phone for work so that's why. But it's amazing.

I'm still using an s7 edge since March 2016, and it's really great, and YouTube barely drains my battery, but standby time is pretty poor. The camera is really good as well, and with Nova launcher, my phone is super smooth with almost no lag. However, the back has a lot of permanent scratches and dots that won't come off. Honestly I'm still happy with the s7 edge.

I had the s8+ as I had every galaxy S iteration since launch, aswell as most note line phones.
Owning a S9+ at the moment, I can tell you that on my S8+ I never smudged the camera lense because of the fingerprint sensor. I can also tell you that on my S9+ I almost always smudge the telephoto camera unlocking the phone. Maybe I'm different to everyone else, but as far as I can tell, the smudging complain on the S8+ could only come from people who don't daily drive it or people who need complaints for videos.

Apart from that, the S9+ is the smoothest phone samsung ever launched, but the S8+ is almost perfect aswell.
I do like the camera color better on the S8 than on the S9 as well, as from years of people nagging, samsung apparently decided to use more accurate colors instead of the beautiful ones from generations past.
I do believe that galaxy S phones are always the best phones of the year (note line is for work, in my opinion, so I won't factor it in since it is more expensive and not more useful for everyone) and at the price you can get a S8+ at the moment, nothing really touches it... as nothing really touched it before.

the 5t was cheaper before it completely sold out, price went up because its a rare device now, and when it gets replaced it wont go down much because oneplus users usually keep their phones for longer :)

To me, SD 835 chipset is still very powerful smooth and fast, especially on Andriod Oreo .It's no biggie
