The reason the light comes on is because there is something wrong with the cars emission system. Resetting the light will not fix the problem, it won't pass smog. This guy is clueless

Sometimes the sensor is off, this is a quick way to reset it. As for a real problem, of course the maintenance light will come back on again.

If it’s the former, then he did help us save an unnecessary trip to the auto shop.

There are many reasons for engine light to come on, by removing the the battery terminal, you will get rid of the engine light temporary it will come back again once you start to drive,

Every repair is $3, 000. It's a bolt, not a screw. Of course the light goes a little while. It will be back, the problem still exists.

It'll be easier to just put a piece of black tape over it because disconnecting the didn't fix the problem
