I recommend that you condition dehydrated foods before packaging for long term storage. Putting the foods in a mason jar with a lid then shaking the jar(s) daily and looking for moisture. Do this for a week to insure everything is completely dry then packaging for long term.

It's amazing how broad your prepping skills are, and how they blend together to cover so many aspects of caring for yourself and family. Thanks for another great video!

I remember learning this just a year or ago and was shocked by how easy it is. It had never occurred to me that this was how it was made. I had looked it up because I was making camping meals for my daughter. That's when I learned that it works for beans too.

I dehydrated rice and beans (separately) in 2020 during the pandemic and used them to make soup yesterday. They were fine. If I am going to use any other way, I soak in hot water along with dehydrated mixed veggies if I am going to make a stir fry. That you for the video. I enjoy your channel very much.

When I started preparing 7 years ago I dehydrated cooked rice and stored it. Also regular rice. These days my old back just buys and stores instant rice . If I can afford it I go with the less stress way😵‍💫😂

Cooking your beans, rinsing them and then dehydrating them is also a good time, energy, and water saver in a time when the cost or availability might be low. You can even mash the beans first and then dehydrate them to give yourself flakes that will quickly turn into refried beans or even bean dip. I did this with a ton of pinto and black beans and then I put them in mylar bags. There's another channel that talks about how you can even can rice. I haven't tried that yet and most likely I won't because I'm limited on my jar space. Parcooked is best.

That’s exactly how I do…I store instant rice in my long term storage for emergencies. Oh…I never did this, I buy the box instant rice and store that…I’ll have to try this

I have some instant rice on hand but this is a Game changer Jinnie, I can't wait to get some of this rice on my shelves. I'm putting 12# of mushrooms on my dehydrator tomorrow, then I have 12 colored bell peppers to dehydrate... Rice will be next... Thank You 😊🙏 Kendra

And for those of us that don't have an instapot or ninja whatever, you can do this regular stovetop cooking version.

You never stop amazing me! I buy instant rice fairly often because 1) I’m not good at cooking rice unless I use my rice cooker, and 2) I’m always in a hurry when making dinner! This will be a tremendous help to me, I’ve got about 300 lbs. of long grain rice so now I can make use of more of it!
