Doing this for the Halo series should be a seriously fun watch, can’t wait

Everything about halo brings me back to better days. Somehow I doubt another game can recreate the feeling

As many can attest to, living through the days of Halo 1-3 was such a treat and one of the best times ever in gaming. XBL was coming to life and Halo launches were HUGE events around the country. For those too young, Halo 2 and 3 launches were so huge I do not think we will ever see events like that ever again for a video game.

Watching JC and Milo's play through of all the halos almost made me emotional, re living the original trilogy and feeling an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and memories. Truly GOATED

Calling Two Betrayals a level "just as bad as the library" is a massive stretch. To each their own, but I think it's one of the most fun levels to replay.
Great video, though. A very well made retrospective.

I remember being blown away by enemy a.i. the first time i saw an elite run and hide behind a pillar and then start shooting. It made me feel like im actually fighting an enemy and not bullet sponges. And also little details like grunt runs when a plasma grenade is stuck while an elite will run towards you in a suicide attack. Halo literally revolutionized the fps genre in a lot of ways from checkpoints to barriers to shields, enemy a.i. attack patterns, vehicle fps gameplay, map hacks, Lan parties, 2 weapon switch etc.

I remember the first time I ever played Halo CE. My dad and I visited a friend of his, and his son, who was about my age, invited me to play Halo CE with him. It was amazing. We played co-op campaign, and I remember it being so weird that we were playing a shooter together and not fighting against each other. I knew there and then that Halo was special, and I was proved right over the years of playing it on the couch with my buddies.

The multiplayer made this game amazing. I used to cart TV's across my suburb in shopping trolleys to play lan with friends.

Well, in my opinion as an all time halo fan boy since it’s first release all those years ago Halo CE holds a special place in my heart and I still play it to this day. You forgot to mention that when they brought Halo to PC it opened up a whole new ball game when you were able to finally play online with other players. That shit was epic, and I still play it on my PC today. It never gets old, and I still find myself having a good time when I do play it. It’s truly a gem.

This was my first Xbox game. I was WAYY too young to play it, I remember my dad watching me play it. It was the first mission in the campaign, the soldiers were running through the ship yelling “Get those bastards”(or something like that), I repeated that line spraying my AR, and my dad was furious I cursed at such a young age. Within 5 years, we were playing Halo 2 LAN tournaments with his work buddies, and their sons. Lots of snacks, and a bunch of us just having a good weekend. Man I miss that.

Agreed with your take on the aesthetics being a thousand times more engrossing in the original graphics.

However, you forgot to mention in AOTCR and two betrayals, the MOMENT TO MOMENT gameplay, which is what halo is about, is FANTASTIC, and in my opinion helps to alleviate the repetitive areas.

I was 11 in 2001, 14-15 in 2004, and 17-18 in 2007.

I lived through its golden age at the perfect time for gaming. Very fortunate.

I can't wait for you to tackle the rest. I have work in the morning, so I wonder if I'll finish this the first time.

There's a reason why I often call anniversary graphics the brightness slider, it's so bright

last year i played for the first time Halo Combat Evolved, and i loved every second of it, the game holds up to this day with no remake needed. both multiplayer and campaign

The campaign did recycle maps, but the difference in enemies and gun play made the whole game a great trading ground. Playing the “library” and “two betrayals” on legendary taught you how to move, use grenades, shoot and reload. CE campaign was like a boot camp for the multiplayer. I never felt the same for the other games campaigns.

You got to love halo CE’s 343 Guilty Spark’s level design

You can see on some parts barricaded rooms and even marines and covenant jackals dead close together up on crates as if the two enemies fought together for their lives against the horrific flood creatures.

I remember when me and my brother played halo ce together, after my dad beat it he let us on. We had a blast trying to save every marine possible and not letting one die, just for it to be fruitless in the end.
