Good instruction, clear and straight to the point. No long drawn out explanation as some videos are. 👍👍

Have had one for at least 3 years now. Have used as a power brick to run a small fan overnight for months. No problems at all and ran it down all the way more than a few times. Have used it dozens and dozens of times to start vehicles with a depleted battery. A few times ignoring the instructions and actually abusing it by not letting it have a break in between numerous attempts to start a vehicle that stalled in a really bad place. Still works fine. Amazing unit for the $100 I paid for it.

if you buy a NOCO Boost Plus GB40 in 2024, note that the USB In to charge it was changed from micro USB to USB-C, and the included charging cable is USB-C on both sides. They didn't bother to update the documentation.

I just bought one today and it had USB-C ports and a USB-C cable instead of micro USB, which I'm actually happy about since all my phone chargers from the last few years are USB-C. But I figured I'd give a heads up for those buying cables or chargers before their new unit showed up.

Does the GB40 need to be fully charged to start a car? At what point will it not work?

Had my GB40 for about 2 years, I had a Mercedes 320 car, , , & it was a waste of time, but I now have a 2.4 Honda and have jump started it and got myself out of trouble many times.

Just to add one thing to this video. I was unable to get my GB40 beyond 75% and the white power light was flashing. I contacted Noco support and was advised that the flashing light was normal and that I should try a different cable/different USB charger. Once I put it on a proper USB wall charger, it quickly reached 100% with a solid white power light! phew!

I plan on keeping this in my car at all times. I only boost cars twice a year. Mainly colleagues at work. Should I keep it at 100% or is there a certain % for casual usage?

Only thing mine does is flash the red light, won't charge.

Can you explain why my charger came with a cable with 2 micro usb ends instead of one with a micro usb at one end and a normal usb at the other end like on the video ?!...

I had this GB40 - everything was good for a about a year then it wouldn't recharge. Very disappointed in it. Tried different chargers, cables, nothing worked. Warranty had expired by the time we got to that point. 1 year warranty is not long enough for a product that should be used so infrequently, but which you rely on when you do finally need it.

Do you need to charge it before first use or does it come fully charged?

Hi All. This is in reponse to a question below.
As of the last year or later, electrical units ie phones etc dont come with a charger and must be usb C now to standise all cables.
I brought the GB40 last year with non usb c cable. Normal 2A phone charger takes a few hours to charge, didnt check how long as left over night.
Brt the new GB40 with usb C cable yesterday. It was on 2nd red light flashing out of the box. Used my Samsung 45w 9A fast phone charger V2 usb C. Full charge to solid green in under an hour. Hope this helps.
Note. make sure you use a 5A usb C cable with this. Otherwise it reduces the charge from the the charger to the Noco, same with phones. The noco cable appears to be 5A cable as used above.
