Another thing she'll do is simply withhold all the things she knows you want, need, and would benefit from based on what you've shared with her and what she senses about you. Validation, attention, affection, information, etc. It's more passive and thus a more discreet way of harming you and pretending that's not what they're trying to do, compared to actively insulting you. I dated a psycho/narc professional therapist who did this and then whenever I'd call her out on it, she'd escape accountability and further devalue me by calling me a low quality man because if I were high quality I wouldn't need anything from a relationship, I would meet all my needs myself. 🙄 These people are anti-social and don't understand pro-social concepts like partnership, care, kindness, love, empathy, affection, reciprocity, fairness, trust, honesty, accountability, etc.

I got stuck with one of these women for 18 years, figured out what was going on in year 2 but there was a baby on the way by then. Son turned 18 and I cut the cord no contact it's been 5 years and feel so free however even knowing what was happening and dealing with her as effectively as possible I see how it has altered my perspectives on relationships, I won't even chance being in that situation again by giving another woman even the tiniest amount vulnerability on my end even though I know not every female is a narc. They have to completely isolate you first.
They must get you to start digging your own grave.
In a position that walking away means losing all that you worked so hard to get.
It's a cage. They don't believe you could leave when they become more overt about their abuse.
