Can I just congratulate your very professional driving. The distance between yourself and the traffic ahead is exemplary!

I don't even mind that the jets appear at the end of the video. The drive has beautiful scenery. I'd be tempted to just hike around the region. The fact there's low flying loud jets overhead would be just an awesome bonus! 😄

Hats off to them for waiting patiently for the end of the solid white line and a clear overtaking opportunity before attempting the pass. Safety first.

A friend and I were driving on I-15 from LA to Las Vegas back in the early 80's. We had crested a pass and were headed downhill when an F-4 came out of nowhere from between two hills and literally passed right in front of us. The noise was amazing. Another passed a couple of seconds later further downhill and actually slightly below us. I haven't thought of that in years until I watched this.

My Auntie used to live just west on Nanttle valley right next to all the man made slate quarries. If you take the dogs for a walk up the north side of Talysarn and sit and wait, you'll have 3 or 4 fly pasts with all manner of jets. I've seen Hercules, F15's, F18's, Jaguars, Tornado's an occasional Harriers. This is around 1983 or so and most of the stuff I saw is no longer part of the RAF or USAF. They'd do that valley fly through and then head up to Anglesea for refuelling and then head back to base. There are places on that route where amateur aero photographers knew exactly where to stand for the perfect shot. The jets would sometimes fly past these photographers around 50m away, but because the photographers had climbed up to 100m+ height, they were at the same height. Also, all over those hills, there is unexploded bombs and all sorts of other stuff that was dumped over the side. Some hills are out of bounds still. In WW2, some planes would take off fully laden with bombs, do their mission or abort and for some reason, they might have to divert to Anglesea to land. Some of these jets were heavily damaged and some did crash or were ditched before they made it, but some would jettison everything and anything. Radios, Machine guns, ammo boxes, bombs and anything that could be tossed out to give them a fighting chance of landing the plane. They'd let the sheep wander the hills, but usually, humans knew to stay off. I don't think anybody from the MOD ever made an effort to clear these areas to make them safe. My Auntie told me that a previous occupant of the house, a teen kid found a hand grenade and took it up to his bedroom to take it apart. I dunno if she just told me to scare me, but she did say that it went off. She never went into any more details. I was about 12 when she told me that. It was enough to make me not want to venture too far and look for stuff. Looking back, I'm certain she was fibbing.

Had a similar thing happen to me years ago driving across the US. Somewhere in New Mexico. Two A7s buzzed me they must have been simulating runs on vehicles. They were attack birds so it made sense. Was very startling and exciting.

This video should really be labelled "Driving the Mach Loop".

You have to love a zoomie fly by at 1000’. I’ve had multiple chances to witness aircraft from Nellie Air Force base on the deck in the San Juan River arm of Lake Powell, Glen Canyon Recreation area. F16, F18, B2, all below the canyon rim. I know I’ve been strafed, bombed and had my bass boat destroyed in practice runs with missiles. When a pilot turns the aircraft on its side to wave, you know it is low. Love the US military, god bless them all.

I remember seeing low flying runs when visiting family near Invergordon in the 80’s. Was pretty cool as a kid to see that in person.

I used to live in the village further down that valley (Dysyni Valley). I've jets even lower whilst driving down that pass (Tal y Llyn pass). At one point, the jets were below the the level of my car. Will never forget it.

I'd love you to subscribe to get me to 1000 subs! The video is recorded with a GoPro which has a wide angle lens, which is why the aircraft do not look low. You can see when they pass the shadows cast by them are pretty huge.
Also I’m sorry for the length but blame the YouTube algorithm, if it wasn’t this length you wouldn’t see it. The scenery is part of the experience.
Try to be a bit less negative and just enjoy these aircraft while we still have them.
EDIT: If you are a subscriber let me know your closest international airport and I'll fly to you in MSFS on a live stream on Twitch! (link in description)

I remember lying on my back looking at the sky in the lakes and remarking to my girlfriend how lovely and peaceful it was.
Right on cue an RAF Jaguar screamed over out of nowhere and virtually parted my hair. The noise and speed were insane, reminded me of my childhood going to endless airshows watching lightnings and phantoms pulling vertical climbs and sneaking up on the crowd from behind... not allowed anymore after the horrors of Rammstein.

I remember last fall when my wife and I were at a car lot near Duluth, MN, when the air national guard had F-16s out for practice runs. They aren't nearly as loud as F-15s, but they're definitely louder than commercial jet liners taking off from the airport. They startled my wife, but got my admiration immediately! They were flying pretty low! Love the sound of airpower!

My dad used to drive big rigs long haul before I was born and told us how once in Nevada just outside Fernley he had a jet come so low he saw the pilot wave to him as he passed by. I believe it. Pretty cool

Heading up to Durness years ago we are accompanied by a huge Sea King Helicopter travelling on our right side near level with the top of the car, but obviously a couple of hundred yards away from us for say 30 seconds or so then it just went right into a valley into the distance..awesome it was...got a wave from the crew as they left us...bloody experience to say the least..Good video btw, and it was enjoyable knowing what was to come.

Experienced a Navy A6 flying over Mt Fuji upside down while we were resting at the top after a grueling 5 hour hike. Obviously they were taking pictures during their passes.

I sometimes work in a residential area near RAF Mildenhall in Norfolk UK. It always baffled me how sound would travel from that little jet up in the sky and shake everything on the ground with a loud roar. If it's that loud at sub-sonic speeds I would not want to hear it going supersonic.

Very cool, I thought this sounded familiar. I was stationed at a USN facility at an RAF base in west Wales and we went up there many times.
