Helpful and accurate video. You can get a good paint color match by taking a clean piece of the siding to a paint store and having them color match a sample of good quality exterior latex acrylic paint for you. Small samples are not expensive and can be very useful down the road.

The bigger problem is there’s no tyvek under that siding
Water does make it past that wonderful looking Dutch lap siding at times and will destroy the flake board sheathing as well

Thank you so much. My underpinnings have holes in them from a tenant using a weed eater too close to the rental. God bless you.

It never even occurred to me that there might be a patch kit... so thank you! Since I already have the paint, I opted for the $8 patch as opposed to the $180 replacement vinyl piece.

I used flex seal tape to repair mine. I used a scrap peice no bigger than a quarter, took it to home depot and had the paint to match the siding. Painted the flex seal tape. 5 years later it is still standing tall. You will never notice.
Problem solved.

Thanks! I need to replace pieces of siding and I don’t know how to do it or how to unsnap and snap and all that stuff so this was very helpful! I think I just have to get in there and start looking at it😊

In the uk you can buy a silicone that matches the colour and fills holes etc but the patch is pretty cool

00:29 No Tyvek house wrap? Just straight onto the wood OSB. My word.

Thanks for the video! How do I secure loose siding back onto the house? When I press the siding it’s not clocking into place.

This is an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing. I wish there was a close up shot of the painted patch at the end of the video :(
