I'm not addicted to my electronic devices, so I don't have a problem with sleeping early. What really keeps me up sometimes is the amount of homework I have. I take my sweet time doing my work because I don't want to make the silliest mistakes. And often times if I am really tired, I just do half of the homework I am given the night before, and then wake up a little earlier than I normally would the next morning in order to finish the other half of my work. I have gym (Outdoor Competitive Team Sports) in first hour of the morning, which explains where the majority of my exhaustion comes from.

My brain just works better when I have the rest, and I have the ability to maintain a good working pace.

I'm a 15 year old teen with a really messed up sleep schedule. I get 5 to 6 hrs of sleep most night, 7 hours at most. Sometimes I get only 4 hrs of sleep at night. On most days, I have to manage by adding 2-3 hrs of sleep during day. My mom doesn't let me take a nice long sleep because she thinks that sleep is a waste of time. That's why I can't get good sleep even on sundays.

I'm 26 now, but I went to a really preppy high school, where I had to stay really late almost every weeknight to do homework. I wanted to sleep in during the weekends, but my parents still tried to wake me up early. I would wake up panicking every morning, and even in the following years during college I would still panic whenever I hear an alarm clock go off or a knock on the door (because that's how my parents would wake me). I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and clinical depression during college. What's sad about it is that people associate sleep deprivation with "working hard", and the people around me would brag about how little they sleep. But that lifestyle just makes you mentally ill.

My circadian rhythm is off and we are expected to wake up early in the morning and that's not gonna work baby okay!!! I need 9 hours of sleep because I'm getting black circles under my eyes and I need to look good and my job is not helping with that.

most high school classes assign at least an hour of homework, now that school is online, I've had hours of homework to do at any given time.

This problem is VERY common here in Singapore. Thanks to homework (we are compelled to stay until 6pm in school on some days for co-curriculum activities and for those people who live far from school have to walk and take the bus). Our Math homework takes up a lot of time. Tests are another factor. We stay up late to revise for tests as we usually don't have the time to do so thanks to activities and homework. I have friends who only sleep at 12am just to wakes up at 6am.
