Important Update 15 Apr 2021: No extra changes are required if you are using elementor.
Text you need to replace in index.php file

Change the line that says:

require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/wp-blog-header.php' );

to the following, using your directory name for the WordPress core files:

require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . );

Replace wordpress with your directory name in above line.

Incredible video. You've saved me MASSES of work when redesigning my site. I didn't want to remove my current website until my new site was created. I was able to build my new site into a folder and simply load it instead when complete.

Hey man I want to do exactly this however .htaccess already exists in the root because the main site is also in a subfolder. I was wondering do I replace that htaccess with the one in the new site folder as well as the index file?

Its working fine but in admin secction when we click on plugin its go to 404, because url got chnaged any suggestion this.

Hi! and thank you! all worked until I removed the /nameOfTheFOlder from the wp panel, after that, I receive a 404 error message. I think the issue is that I'm using elementor. Can you please share the link on how to update the links there? I don't see it in the description. thanks

In the video you make a point of saying that if using Elementor - you need to update the URL. You say you will post info on what is required, but looks like you forgot to do this. How do I update the URL in Elementor?? Please advise and thanks for a great video!
