They make docks for the Lite that can power and interface a usb hid device at the same time . Also doubles as a stand so you don't have to look down to play .

Actually Walmart has a dock for pretty cheap that isn't official. But it will work with both switch & switch lite.

Note for everyone looking into potentially getting an adapter: I bought one for super cheap while I was in high school since my friends and I always used to play smash at lunch. I had a wired GameCube style pro controller, and the connector worked perfectly! It’s seamless and works with all models of switch. The only minor complaint I have is that you need a dedicated stand like shown in this video, not just the kickstand. Make sure the stand has a cutout for you to plug in the connector. Other than that, just having that connector lying around has been super useful too. Usb-c to usb-a is a handy thing to have lying around since I tinker with tech all the time 😁
