Dear sir, thank you for your advice, it really works. I have a similar issue, maybe you can help me: I bought an external microphone (lavalier, rode) but when I connected this with the phone's adapter (3.5mm jack to c /Flip 3) then I record my voice with the external microphone, but unfortunately I can't hear what I have recorded. Is there a setting for reproducing the audio with an external microphone? Thank you in advance for your help

I plug the lav mic into my headphone jack but it's registering as headphones and not a mic

I tried this today. this seems to mute my phone. I can record through the mic, but to listen to the recording I have to unplug the dongle. it doesn't help if you are doing video conferencing. People would hear you, but you won't hear them. I wonder if there is a way to stop the phone from defaulting to the internal speakers when the dongle is plugged in.

I don't understand, I have a type C USB. Is the type C dongle something different? Type C won't connect to iPhone or older Androids? I know it's me missing something here. Something to do with that dongle?

I plugged my RODE TRRS Lava using a "3.5 TRRS to USB-C". The audio quality is ruined on my type c android. Comapred to plugging it directly into an AUX android. The quality is perfect.
I don't trust these connections. Loses quality badly.

Lol could have done the exact same thing by simply plugging it into the audio jack. I do it without any problems. That adapter is just an extra unnecessary step
