Dr. Paula Levine, psychologist and founding director of the Miami Counseling Resource Center, talks about the scale that determines the level of anxiety disorder.
SUDS is an acronym for Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale. She uses the scale from 0 to 100.
The specialist says she likes the idea that it's a thermometer because its fluid suggests that anxiety is something that can go up and down.
He also says the scale can help in the process of using relaxation or meditation techniques to control anxiety and prevent panic attacks.
