Want to get the BEST cellular signal, speed and ping? Add a Waveform External 4x4 MIMO antenna to your Chester Tech Repair Cheetah 5G Router. I show the speed difference on 4G LTE, 5G extended and 5G UC on T-Mobile's network. Get tons of extra features like 5G SA, band locking, tower locking, custom APN and DNS, VPN, WAN failover and more. Here's a new custom built 5G Modem Router that provides all these capabilities. It can be configured with a Mediatek or Qualcomm router chipset and a selection of a CAT16, CAT 19 or CAT22 Quectel Modem (mine has the CAT19 RM520-GL modem). It supports Wi-FI 6 and has two LAN ports so its easy to get the speed to all your devices. They provided the router for me to test and demonstrate its capabilities and also provide a referral coupon code below for a discount specifically for my viewers! Due to bulk order for high demand they are passing on savings to you with a stackable coupon!

Hey Nate, after watching many of your videos, I took your advice and bought the Chester Cheetah and Wavefrom 4X4 antenna. I live in south central Michigan where my T-Mobile signal was terrible. On average, it was 1.5 megabits per second or less. Now with my new setup, I consistently get a 5G signal and in range of 20 to 50 mbps and have hit as high as 71 mbps. This is great for my wife and I to browse the internet or stream a movie. Thanks again for all your research and testing of these device.

My Chester Quectel Cat 19-RM520N-GL / Mediatek gateway arrived today, Nater Tater discount applied.
Out of the box I installed the stock antennas and my T-Mobile Business Sim, placed the gateway in my third story window and Boom!….
500 D / 40 U . [B66 / N41] The T-Mobile gateway was 200 D / 6 U in the window (which is not convenient for me)
I’m going to install an outdoor 4X4 waveform log antenna so I can relocate the Chester away from the widow.
Very soon I will say bye bye to Cox at $110/month for a limited data plan.
You ROCK!…. Love your content and analysis. Thank You from a rural location in Arkansas.

Nate i sent mine back ..it never worked for me . The speed i was getting on the Chester vs arcadyan kvd21 was absolutely the same speed 220megs no matter what settings i was applying for the 2 weeks i had this with Chesters latest firmware, my T-mobile tower is 1 mile next to my window . Guess just like the arcadyan or the Chester it all depends on where you live and no one is going to get the same results, Also Nate Amazon started selling these with the same specs and chips for $200 less. As always i appreciate your videos and help in everything you do ! Your #1 Fan :)

Hey Nate,

Got the Cheath and the 4x4. It's helped a ton. Ping is only 80 but DL and UL improved a bunch.

Funny thing is. If I point out at the towers I'm worse. I'm between towers. If I leave it in the middle it's best. Like tower 1 is at 3, tower 2 is at 9 and the antenna is at 12.

Locked in on 66 and 41....

Thanks!

Great presentation of data. Thank you for the time and effort to do the testing and putting it all together. I have a similar situation at my house. Just ordered the Cheetah. I will let you know the results.

Another great video - thanks! Off to order SMA to TS-9 pigtail connectors to do some 2x2 MIMO testing. You mentioned to be sure to match polarity. Could you expand on that a bit or point me to some reference material? If I test with a Netgear 2x2 MIMO, do I connect to A and C or ? TIA!

Love the videos. If you HAD to choose, would you buy a 3rd party router like the cheetah or do surgery on a T-Mobile gateway? I can’t decide which way I want to go.

Great video, thanks! Cheetah is on order, and I'll probably end up with the 4X4 antenna as well. Nokia gateway is on the second floor but I'll probably have to move out to the attic for optimal reception.

Hello Nate, I love in the woods and I currently have a mofi 4g running a tablet sim card from tmobile using a parabolic antenna for about 3 years now. I get about 20-30 mb download. If i buy the Cheetah from you and use the sim card in it, will it work with the parabolic antenna I have. The antenna says it is a 4g/5g antenna.

Hi Nate,
Been playing with the settings on the Cheetah for about a week and just ordered the waveform panel kit. Like you (kinda) I have an upstairs office that opens to a walk-in attic at the end of the house closest to the tower. The plan is to run out as far as I can with the provided cable and just see what happens. If I only get a noticeable improvement in SINR it'll be worth it.

Cellular internet is so random day to day (and even hour to hour) I've had a hard time comparing apples to apples, but so far the performance of the Cheetah and the stock Nokia have been pretty even. I give an edge to the Cheetah for the ability to 1: Be able to easily attach external antennas, 2: The ability to change the DHCP settings to avoid service drops, and 3: The ability to band lock.

On thing I've noticed is the Cheetah doesn't seem to have quite the wifi coverage of the Nokia... have you had similar results?

Also, the status screen for the Cheetah does a pretty random job of identifying attached clients. Half the time I get names like "ringstickupcam-c5", and at other times it just reports the IP address. Would be nice if it were more consistent.

Anyway, thanks for all the informative videos. They've helped a lot!

I have 3 cell services. AT&T tablet plan in a 3P modem, TMHI 5G in the Nokia, and Verizon 4G LTE in their white cube. I'm only 2.2 miles from my tower, but I am 600 feet lower than it and my SINR is so bad on AT&T and TMHI that I rarely see about 30/1 no matter where I put it in the house or even outside.

I've come to the conclusion that I'd either need to load balance, bond, or put my gateways or external antennas high up to get line of sight. Kind of a bummer.

I will say though I've talked to Alfredo in some of the FB groups we're in. Super nice and knowledgeable. Big bonus that his modem is way cheaper than some of the other 5G options out there.

would you recomend the chester or peplink br1 max for better signal and speed?

What do you think about this for an RV application?

I have a mofi4500 and 2 directional antennas. They are all outdated, 5yrs +. I am replacing the antennas with two 5G antennas. I might consider the Waveform 2X2. It is too difficult to add more wires. My cables are about 50' long. I am up in the air about the router. Have you tested the Chester with such antennas? Or, at least a 2X2 antenna? Do you recommend Chester? Thank you, Larry

your videos are inspiring and fun. i have a weird situation going on. I got a second tmobile home internet device because my service went downhill so bad....i've beed testing the new one out with my old trashcan in same location etc....the new one (arcadian) is literally doubling the trashcan in performance even though the trashcan is on a 2x2 waveform mounted on the roof! the new one is just the arcadyian itself....im starting to think tmobile prioritizes newer customers!

Perhaps I missed it, but with the flat panel Waveform 4x4 which of the numbered cables goes to which antenna connector on the back of the Chester Cheetah? Thanks for such great and informative videos!!!
