For years I suffered from leaky gut syndrome, I couldn't have gluten or dairy because it would cause inflammation and stomach problems, I am a soccer fan and I saw that a lot of soccer players including Messi drank mate so I decided to give it a try not knowing of the benefits it would bring. Two years later Yerba Mate somehow helped my stomach heal and now I can eat mostly everything without having any reactions. I am so grateful that I found this magical tea! I am a Mate drinker for life now! 😊 #MatePower

It's so weird. Especially in America there are far more pressing and better researched health hazards than yerba mate. The amount of sugar and chemicals in americas food is baffling for europeans standards. Makes you wonder if the coffee industry is funding these waves of studies on yerba health hazards lol.

I got scared for a while, but then I realized that Im watching this video in my room, siting on a computer whole day, eating donuts and other unhealthy foods, no exercise and obesity. So yerba is one of the better things I do..

In Paraguay everybody drinks mate. Well mostly they drink it ice cold (which is also not good for the stomach), but never ever have I heard of somebody having cancer of drinking mate. None of my relatives had cancer, and I have a large number of relatives living there.

Remember this: Coffee industry is one of the biggest in the world. Sure they don't want people to drink mate

With the amount of chemicals that are probably found in the plant, it makes sense that at least one is carcinogenic. But there are so many other things that can cause cancer too.

In Brazil, the south region is where people drink more yerba. However, specially older people, will drink it very fast and very hot, which led to mouth or throat tumors. Drinking it only when it's hot but comfortable is the way to go

There is a study indicating twice the risk of squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus in mate drinkers

the studies were so bad though. Some people were heavy smokers and drinkers or drank the tea way too hot.

The biggest issue I've had with Yerba was the intense hunger after consuming it all night

I drink the brand EcoTeas or Ecoleafs. It's unsmoked fair trade and organic yerba mate and it's so good! Help me focus, elevates my mood, and helps me fatigue and wakes me up

Well it has really high antioxidants compared to processed foods and cigarettes. Its really healthy. I get that dont consume too much as moderation is key, but i dont see a link between yerba mate with cancer, its really nonconclusive for such a popular well loved drink. 🤷‍♀️ its up to the drinker to decide if its worth the risk.

I wouldn’t pay any attention to anything the World Health Organization says

Consider purchasing AIR DRIED mate opposed to smoked mate. No pah when it is unsmoked

I only drink air dried Bio yerba mate just to be on the safe side and ig I like the taste more. Nothing over 65°C should ever pass someones lips otherwise it can cause damage like cancer or just burnings.
