Today's video covers some of my favorite ankle sprain exercises. These exercises train the muscles that control and stabilize the ankle joint. Performing exercises like the ones shown in this video can help reduce the likelihood of suffering another ankle sprain in the future and other lower body injuries.

Ankle sprains are one of the most common orthopedic conditions and can lead to long-term impairments including ongoing pain, stiffness and gait abnormalities in as many as 72% of individuals. Furthermore, nearly 80% of those individuals who suffer a sprain are likely to experience reinjury.

Hi! I do the lateral stepdowns frequently and have recently started adding some pretty heavy weight to them but now I'm getting some mild pain / soreness in the anterior aspect of my ankle. I feel like the lateral stepdowns have helped me with my knee pain but now I'm getting some and to your ankle ankle issues with them. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks

I really do hope you come back and read this comment. I get shin splints from doing low impact exercises like hopping, walking on incline or decline, jogging. I’m trying to strength my ankle and improve my low arch but I feel hobbled. What should I do about these shin splints so I can start really exercising?
