The combination of Torque and Engine speed is what matters. One should always see Torque AND rpm together. All said and done, an engine that produces more torque at the same rpm is also producing more power. If the gearbox, final drive and tires and the vehicle are the same, the engine that produces more torque will also be more powerful and produces better acceleration.

Top speed is all about whether you are getting enough HP to overcome drag (assuming proper gear ratios) at a certain speed. When you can't overcome drag anymore, that's your vmax.

Too rapidly clever for me. I'll move to the back of the class. But thank you for trying to explain.

This actually helped, but the full video has the real credit 😅

Nice! Should do a more in depth video about these kind of fundamentals though (if you like :) ) Like why isn't torque constant over RPM and stuff

Hi
I have a question about power and torque
I understand 90% of it but one thing i dont understand.
If for better acceleration we need power not torque, so why in my car 1.8t chipped i feel better acceleration for example on 3rd gear betwen 2, 5k-4k rpm (where average power and torque is 135hp & 290Nm) than between 4, 5k-6k rpm (where average power and torque is 180hp & 240Nm) ??
I know there is a air resistance but i dont belive that is so big. Same feeling on 2nd gear.
Same example is in diesel 1.9tdi 130hp.
On 3rd gear at 4k rpm (max power) accelerate slower than at 2.5k rpm
All I want to know why I fell more counter force on my seat when I 'am betwen 2.5k-4k RPM than between 4, 5k-6k RPM although power of engine is bigger there

Why is that?

Can you do a video analyzing the new Ariel Atom ground effect car? Thanks!

Why do they use Diesel engines & not gasoline engines on 18 wheelers?
Is it because Diesel engines have higher compression ratio producing higher torque basically due to the resulting force from the compression based explosion inside the pistons?

Power is what moves you
Torque is a byproduct of the engine itself

A more Torquey engine will produce more power down low giving the illusion that it's torque and not power

I thought this was fastest 0 to 60 possible power vs torque

pls do a full Video on this. my friend wont believe that my 500hp/ 650nm Astra is faster than his 400hp/ 750nm Diesel A5. i also know my gearing and final Drive. he doesnt know shit and says Torque is everything and he would Beet everything from m5's to s62 amgs...

Completely unintelligible. Why waste our time?
