That thing where someone says your idea won’t work or leaves you out of a group thing and your face goes hot and the entire world seems to be crashing down around you.

Yes, it is normal.

Hello my dears!
My name is Sydney and I’m an actress/singer-songwriter who writes music about my experiences being autistic, disabled, gay, and in general, a human. My goal is to fill musical gaps and write about things people often forget to make music about. I’m also a vintage enthusiast and disability advocate (among other things). I’ve now released 2 albums and, most importantly, my favorite color is buttercup yellow.

I was in entertainment & modeling 11 years with RSD but for some reason it doesn’t hit with auditions like it does interpersonally - I know a lot of stats about the industry and that if they invite you in they already like you, and not getting one audition if they liked you makes it more likely you’ll get the next they call you in for (in a compounding way as they get to know your work, range and personality). Maybe that doesn’t help at all, but the fact that it’s a blunt industry was really helpful to me bc I knew where I stood. GOOD LUCK YOU ARE GREAT

Awe, just seeing this, but your kind words are so sweet and this is so relatable. It's a daily struggle for sure. So many fields are a struggle too as you say. I'm a new nurse & it hits home. Thank you for putting this out to us :) Big hugs 🤗

Well that hit right in the feels!i had never heard of this condition. I can definitely identify with some of that, I always attributed it to social anxiety etc. Will be reading about more!

"...let us know that it's ok that we have 'messed up'. It may make us ache, but it will hurt a lot less than you telling us angrily that we were 'wRonG' and leaving it at that. Because a lot of the time we don't understand why what we were doing was 'wrong', because it's logical to us - but it may be illogical to you. So a lot of times it's not even wrong, it's just d i f f e r e n t."

So that's why I felt always so bad when somebody told me is was doing something wrong. My mother must have noticed it because she never punished me with house arrest or taking my toys away. She did punish my sisters because they didn't care but just a talk was enough for me.

Your videos are so well done! Truly informative but followable like a conversation, without the need of excessive jargon. The vids make my new diagnosis feel less daunting and more affirming to it put into words that I can use to help myself/others. Hope more people find this channel!
