I am walking around Beijing on what is the hottest day of the year. I am at the Ming Dynasty Relics Park, enjoying the morning and reflecting on all the Chinese vloggers who now share the reality of travelling and living in China.

Congratulation to your city Beijing. It's now home to eight World Heritage Sites after UNESCO just gave the designation to Beijing Central Axis today. I wonder any other city in the world can rival BJ in this respect. Beijing alone surely is worth visiting, not to mention China. Welcome, people from all over the world.

I took to China like a duck to water when I first visited the country back in 2004 and I have never lost my love for the place since then!! A black American YouTuber, having just got through immigration in a Chinese airport, is trying to figure out which metro line to take and sees a policeman approaching. His initial reaction is to run, but thinks that would be more dangerous than staying. The policeman greets him with words to the effect of "Welcome to China sir, can I help you find your way?".

For a few months now I been seeing lots of videos on YT with titles such as "China wasn't what I expected!" or "Nobody told me China was like this!". Today I saw one from a second time visitor entitled "China was exactly what I expected!".

It's great more and more ppl are vlogging about China now, they simply can't ignore straight forward, on the ground vlogs by genuine ppl. As for the idiot in the viral vid, glad he was caught on camera, and it shows the care of the delivery guy who closed it. Did the authorities do anything about that guy? Because that was stupidly dangerous and could have caused an accident.

I sometimes get quite sick of those propaganda towards directly to Chinese tourists as if there is no one in other countries smoking in public, spitting on street, jumping the queue and yelling loudly. Everything happen in China is evil, same happen in others are just accidents. As for that dude opened the car's trunk door, he went viral on Chinese social

The first time I visited over 10 years ago I was surprised at how advanced everything was. The media back in the UK portrayed the country as poor and undeveloped.

I can tell u with 99.9 % sure all those foreigner YTubers are people with good conscience, logical reasoning and common sense. All of them. Not because they praise China, but they really tell us the truth if what is happening there without being afraid to get backlash from their government or nasty people

Whilst I agree, and I love China (I married into it), some of the bloggers based there are as insufferable as the anti China folks 😂
I was happy to find your blog (and sabbatical, who was in China briefly) as you seem relatively balanced like some of my friends who still live there.
I hope you stick to that balance and don't go too far down the overselling route.
