Stressful Arrival in CHINA 🇨🇳 we tried something...

We are flying to Shanghai China, for the FIRST TIME! Well, sort of... we want to travel to Shanghai, the biggest city in China, but, we actually booked a transfer flight, via Shanghai, to Beijing. We booked a transfer flight because the cost was half the price (despite the extra flight, make it make sense!). We are hoping we can get off in Shanghai and collect our bags, meaning we would have saved around £300 each!
This is our long and slightly stressful travel day, as we fly from London, UK, to Shanghai, China for the first time!
We are aiming to travel across China for at least the next 3 months.
It is a country that gets a lot of negative attention in the western media, and despite its rich, ancient culture and history, it doesn't get many western tourists either.
We want to explore some of the lesser known areas of this massive misunderstood country, and break a few stereotypes people may have about China. But to start our journey, we want to explore Shanghai, the economic & business centre of the country and the beating heart of China!

How difficult was it for you to get your Chinese visas?

I suspect the cheaper price was because a lot of airlines are struggling due to sanctions, so any flights through their many smaller airports brings in some revenue, but a lot of chinese airlines are struggling with mainetance and parts, so I would highly recommend you guys fly on a non chinese airline, also I am surprised you guys are travelling like this at a time when it is so dangerous for foreigners over there

Harriet and I have traveled all over China. Shanghai being one of the largest financial centers in the world. We enjoyed our time at Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Garden and The Bund.
Hope you got to visit there. If you are into Disney . Disneyland is there. Not as popular as the other Disney's around the world. There are many other things to do. I'm sure you found them.

If your flight is to Beijing, then your checked-in luggage will land in Beijing. You will not get your luggage in Shanghai if you decide to exit in Shanghai? Unless you have no checked-in luggage.
