In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how to use Inkscape to take an object and repeat it along the contours of a shape. To do this we’ll be using a handy path effect called Pattern Along Path.

You are literally the messias of logo design. No bullshit talking, just pure helpful content and the best methods, delivered with your super pleasant voice.

Whenever i have an issue, there's always a short article/video by you, so i don't have to struggle with pages of forum nonsense.

Thank you so much for all this incredible knowledge!

It's so weird how easy this becomes once you understand all the little tools and stuff. These videos have been so helpful!

Bro... I've been doing it manually for a couple of years. The fact that you can do this blows my mind.

I use Inkscape to create designs for my CNC router, and one of my favorite things to use are mandala patterns, which I usually source from an image search, then trace the bitmap. This will be very helpful in letting me make my own!

I've probably watched nearly thirty of your videos in the past and learned so much. I finally clicked on the link for the master class, and you were running a special, all of your courses 39 bucks. I didn't even have to think twice about it. The way you explained the processes and procedures, it's super easy for me to follow and for me to learn. So buying your courses is just a no-brainer. Thank you for everything that you do for people like me who are trying to learn the various softwares, and thank you for making the master classes as well.

5+ years of using Inkscape and hearing only now that you can scale the object and get awesome results! Thank you Nick.

I drew a star and fit it around a circle. So far so good. But when I made the original star bigger, the ones around the circle did not respond in kind. After a long time, I figured out that the original star (or the pattern in your case), needs to be a path and not an object. After that, it worked just fine. Nice trick, Nick. Thanks for sharing.
