Why Doesn't Northern India Have Big Temples Like The South? | Rajat Mitra | #SangamTalks

Southern part of India has huge ancient Hindu temples dating back to several thousand years. Whereas northern part of the country lack such big ancient temples. Did Hindus built such magnificent places of worship only in Southern India?
Rajat Mitra narrates how a curious foreign tourist couple asked this question and why they felt Hindus are second class citizens in their own country.

In Tamilnadu there are around 39 thousand Temples.In that many Temples are 1500 years old.I leave in Tirupur which is famous for knitting companies also has many small and big temples and only we have 6 temples which are above 1000years
But other districts have more temples which are above 1000years, and the Architecture of this temples are beyond our imagination and cannot be solved or understand by today's profound Architect's.In Tirupur there is a Lord Shiva temple known as Vaduganathar temple thar is above 1000 years old and there pillar in which the position of babies in the mothers Womb is described step by step and I am astonished how it could be because in modern science only we are scanning to know the position of the baby but without any equipment how it be possible to portray the statue with such clarity and this is only a sample and there are lots and lots of other Temples are there standing Tall for thousands of years withstanding the Heritage, Culture, customs, Secrets, Sacred, Sanctity, precious arts etc.Proud to be a Tamilnadu Hindu

I’m a Tamil who lives down south. For me and many like me temple has to be old and majestic otherwise it does not feel like one at all. It is not difficult to see each town having at least a few temples which are centuries old.

They destroyed taxila & nalada University and looted & destroyed somnath temple multiple times too. What you could exoect from them. Our ahimsa became our biggest obstacle and instead hindoo fights with castes, states.

I am South Indian but North Indian went through lot of battle crises with muguls in those time than South India. They fought a lot than us.
