Wow. You have AC. And heat. And a working gas gauge. Super fancy compared to mine!

One good thing for gas mileage is puting an electric fan kit on. It reduces engine stress on pump because no bolted fan on pulley, it frees some horsepower too. I installed a Flexalite kit because the shroud looks very Jeep genuine and it is really well constructed. But I did not used the temperature module that comes with it ( a sensor to stick in the radiator grill ) instead I installed a thermal switch set to 95°c on 90°c off that is thread on a CNC machined hose male/male union. I cut the lower radiator hose in the middle to install it and the running is optimum I do not have those big temperature drops I used to have when thermostat was opening it stays still and engine warms faster on winter !

My 2004 BMW 325i only got 15 MPG since I bought it 5 years ago.
I cleaned the MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR and I'm getting around 30+ now!!!
(It never threw a fault code for anything. Including Oxygen Sensors.)

Thank you for this video.
I was getting raw fuel coming out of my exhaust. I actually took my thermostat out 8 months ago and and we'll have been getting overwhelmed with fumes..
Did not know that the engine had to be warm

I have an 05 grand Cherokee and I get like 8-10 city and at best 12 highway. It’s HORRIBLE esp now with gas prices where they’re at 😩

Just swapped my 160 stat to a 195, it's November in MD now, need some cabin heat in my 1990 4.2 Wrangler, my temp gauge is right where yours is and still chilly in the cab, funny, a 195 in my 4.0 2001 Cherokee is right at

I knew from the beginning before I bought my Jeep it was a gas gutter, that's why I have a secondary Toyota Prius hybrid that's why I never complain about how much my Jeep drinks fuel.
That's how see it ...

JEEP
Just empty every pocket
Klondike mine easy to work on. Lotta fun
15 mpg, temp 190
212 normal operatic temp with functioning cooling system under pressure not a bad thing to run a lil under that. You don't want it running that hot in summer f u can help it. Increases oil temp, thin oil out

Question: have you looked at your spark plugs? I did the same thing with the water pump and thermostat. My spark plugs are running rich because there is black carbon on them right away. I'll need to put a higher thermostat in mine as well.

Thanks for this vid, will do this myself as I'm having huge fuel economy issues like you were. Running the same temp stat as well lol

We have a lot of hot days here in the SW. I will keep a look at my gas usage but I dont think this will be a problem 9 months out of the year.

I have a '93 yj with the straight 6 & the auto tranny. It sits on 31" and Im getting 11mpg consistently. My Jeep seems to sit at the tick before 210° i was thinking about doing this, do you have any other ideas on stuff i should look into for some better mpgs?

Parallel resistance across the coolant temp sensor to raise the temp reading to the ecu is much easier.

Also use higher grade of fuel u will get even.better milage

It’s ridiculous! A six cylinder getting worse miles per gallon then the 5.3 L Chevy 1500 long bed I used to have!
