Clean air filter, air up your tires, remove weight, and drive smoothly.

I’m a chemistry major. And I am so so happy when Scott explains the energy difference between electrolysis of water and the combustion of hydrogen gas. This guy is no gimmick. He really knows what he’s talking about. I admire that.

Also use momentum to your advantage. Car uses most gas when accelerating from a complete stop. Don't race to a red light just to stop at one. Coast slowly to the light and just maybe it will turn green before you stop and you would have saved brakes and kept your momentum.

Wouldn't it just be better and cheaper to take your neighbors gas out of their car at 2 am

My friend says that his Nissan is a gas drinking monster and that's because he keeps doing your famous advice: "Rev up your engines"!!!

Avoiding the drive through is the best way but conservative driving is a close 2nd... you get better gas mileage, your brakes and tires last longer, it's easier on your engine, easier on your passengers, safer, etc! Installing a vacuum gauge in your dash can help you see how hard your riding the throttle!

Scotty makes a lot of sense. As a hobbyist mechanic, I’ve always recommended to keep OEM oil viscosity. Primary reason is the journels in your crank and rod bearings are drilled to move oil evenly and sufficiently throughout the engine. To increase viscosity may very well reduce the ability to get the right amount in the right place. May be a topic for Scotty.

Increasing the tire pressure does increase gas mileage, but it also makes the ride much harder, and can make older struts noisy.

The air conditioning part was very reassuring! I always thought that with the windows down, was worst for the wind resistance. Thank you so much for the tips Scotty!

I fully agree with your comment: "lower rpm for better ⛽ mileage".

I used to drove at legal speed limit previously until I was discharged from hospital for spine surgery. I became cautious to drive conservatively because offering my spine situation and found that I got better gas mileage for driving below speed limit. Now I drive about 10 kilometers below and stop buy gas pumps fewer times. I become very watchful about my odometer while driving.

I remember when people used to jack up the back of their cars. They got better fuel economy because they were always driving down hill. 😂

That I have seen, MPG goes up slightly after an oil change. Usually it's something like .2 or .3 MPG, but it is something.
