Russian Accent Intonation

I am Russian and I have to say you are very good!! The only thing is I don't move my neck like that, hahaha))) Also, for me, it's always a struggle to pronounce a "th" sound so I just say "t" or "s" instead. And I often forget to use "a" and "the" articles when I speak English. Sank you! :)

Nope. It's not the Russian accent. It is a typical gangster "Russian" accent from American movies.
Moreover. This intonation you can meet in Russian criminal movies on Russian language as well.
You know, it is like a stereotype that all afro-american people say chewing "Yoh bro wazzap" as gangsters from movies.

Not exactly all Russians, but I know gopniks sound like this! Myself and my russian friends have regular Russian accent. Quite less than that, but nice job! I know you were trying to do the stereotypical accent and you nailed it

You've nailed it :) Whenever I try to utter English words the way I would pronounce Russian ones, it sounds totally like smth between your "hard" and "light" variants! So yes, the direction is right. I can't imagine a young female from Russia talking like that. The thing i hear from them (and me, and the majority of population of Russian-speaking countries) is that we can't grasp the waving intonation that tou have. Ours is gradual

Hello, Im a russian man. I would like to share my opinion if i may.. Not to correcte you or something. I like your method, wich is funny and if it works good for you, but I don't really think it works for everybody. That head movement is just your imagination or mind picture of "russian accent". It is how you see it in your mind.. Because people tend to imagine everything in their heads, even sounds. May give some other method much simplier..- It is just to spell every letter in the word AS IT IS with open sounds and don't put 2 vowels together phoneticcally. For russians - enlish language is not very legible/crisp/articulate. We are really struggling to reproduce these "chewing sounds", russian language phonetic is based on "open vowel sounds" and very "sharp consonants", it is not "Ai" it is not "Bi" but Teachers in school were telling us to imagine that we are chewing hot potato while speaking english, and it is kind of true.. We do not have sounds like "Y" or "are" or "W" in "window" and the king sound "TH" god damn this freaking sound :))) We dont also like two "vowels" next to each other. So russian persone will pronounce W just like "V". So that's the secret.. Just spell it like if you are familiar with latin alphabet, but never heard english. So instead of "Yellow", russian would say "E-ellov".. "Window = vindou", "Why? = Vai", "Brother = Brader or Brazer", "Tomorrow = tumorou"...U Dont nid a hEd mouvment jAst pronauns it LAik dis Yuri! :))
