Why Mormon Influencers Are So Popular

It's actually insane I have to say this...

I don't actually think that many creators are Mormon, probably just my algo and the type of content I watch having a large overlap. It just felt like I kept hearing about how X creator is Mormon for weeks and finally made a video about it.

Mormon is not an ethnic group, they do not have a long shared history of persecution. They do not "control" social media. This video is purely about an interesting observation I had and my curiosity into why there are so many successful Mormons in the creator space. It's a topic for fun, its not meant to be seen as anything larger. I am critiquing the system/org not the people, I use the people to make points and to be entertaining.

Antisemitism is cringe, you are cringe. If you are here to say "Do a topic about X group" you are missing the point of this video.

Antisemitism is for losers, you are a loser if that's what you are trying to turn any of this into.

You need to go outside, touch grass and never speak to another human again.

The clip where the man mentions the network of Mormons in this is vastly different than a group working together and having a shared struggle because of centuries of bigotry.

Edit:

also, I really like some creators who are Mormon. The outdoor boys, jerryrigeverything, Mark Rober, etc. I just have issue with the religion and found it interesting how prevalent they are in social media.

It would take hours in a video just to name them all and that would just be in the lifestyle space. I might make another video talking more about the history, or documenting all the different creators I stumbled across.

Once again, I must state. MORMONS DO NOT CONTROL social media, they are not some secret cult manipulating the algo. Its just Mormons are taught a lot of skills that transfer to being an influencer, or CIA asset. I dunno if there even is a disproportionate amount, I highly doubt it. I just found it interesting how many I noticed who were Mormon, probably just my algo.

My favourite part of the Book of Mormon was when Joseph Smith said “it’s Mormon time!” and mormed all over those guys

I read the title fast and thought it said “Why every influencer is secretly a moron” and I was about to say “WDYM SECRETLY?”

Trad Wives sell an image. Most videos show them doing an optional activity, such as baking cookies. You never see the drudgery of chores or the frustration of children misbehaving, unless they're selling a solution.
I suspect Mormons are taught from an early age to be mindful of image. At school, when other kids complained about their own religion (boring sermons, required fasting) the Mormon kids stayed pretty tight lipped about their own experiences when they were around non-Mormon friends. Not saying that's universal, just what I observed growing up.

Johnny Harris is ex-Mo, he and his wife Iz have a video breaking down why they left and why a lot of Mormons are influencers. It's probably on Iz's channel from maybe 5 years back. TLDR: their graduating class at BYU was told that social media was a viable career even for women

The Scientologists need to borrow the Mormons’ PR team 😂

Don't Mormons give 10% of their income to the church? So the church has an incentive to further these big influencers because they earn as well. So they don't admonish the influencers for not following ALL the rules (clothing etc) as long as enough money comes in...

fun fact, the dude in charge of Mormons in Scotland once banned any more Mormons from coming to my house, they used to come every week and end up helping with tasks like firewood and painting. elder Stubbs is the only name i remember, he even brought his wife and her parents to meet my family. then they all got banned cause we wouldn't become Mormon ahahah

I dated a Mormon girl once, granted she probably never would have agreed to go out with me im the first place if she wasn't already questioning things, but she told me many times that she never really wanted kids and the pressure she felt to pop out as many kids as possible was exactly the opposite of what she wanted.

Alyssa Grenfell has a great video breaking down how videos that mention the words "Mormon" or "LDS" actually earn more money per view than most other videos do, which means Mormon influencers can earn a living online MUCH easier than other people

This is the wealthiest church in the world by far. Influencers make Mormonism look beautiful and easy. Most members have nowhere near that level of privilege. Even very poor Mormons are taught to pay their tithing rather than feeding their children. When really this church has more than 100 billion dollars in stockpiled funds

Mormons are massively overrepresented among the best American fantasy and sci-fi authors in the last 40 years. Brandon Sanderson, Orson Scott Card, Stephenie Meyer, Tracy Hickman…the list just goes on and on.

I see more ex-Mormon influencers more than anything else. So I’m on the right side of YouTube I guess

I feel like if you're gonna plaster Mark Rober prominently in your thumbnail and front and center when you show examples of Mormon influencers you should mention him at least once.

I had to Google mark rober Mormon bc I couldn't believe it but he is. The article I read actually says he's NOT Mormon but then goes on to say he is by saying he's part of the LDS church. Wacky.
