That's why those who leave it often change their look.

No wonder so many Utah mommy vloggers are hard to tell apart 😂

I’m a second generation Italian American, I got a lot of the recessive traits. I married a blonde Mormon. His grandpa was upset that our youngest son had brown hair and looked “Native American” when he was born. I was like 🙃🙃🙃

The Mormon mom to influencer pipeline that spawned the Stanley cup craze is so fascinating to me

I used to hate myself so much because I didn’t look Mormon. I was adopted, and they told me (back in the 80s) that being sealed would change my blood if I was worthy. So I felt repulsive for just being what I am.

I was in a residential school in utah. Its true, mormons almost have their own ethnicity due to how their genetics have been so isolated for so many generations.

They have a vibe like they’re hypnotised—sort of a wide eyed smiling look but kind of robotic

My husband told me that when he was growing up in Las Vegas, everyone assumed he was Mormon because he was white and his parents were still together 😂 Really tells you more about Vegas honestly

one of my favorite insults is "you have the soft jaw of a midwest mormon"

As a non-Mormon, currently living in Utah, I’ve noticed that Mormons look very…pioneer-y

As an Asian guy, I don’t have to worry about being mistaken for being a Mormon. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Mennonites have a similar issue, they play "the Mennonite game" where they figure out how they're related, because they're all related. This includes modern Mennonites who love normal modern lives, not just the traditional ones who have horses and stuff.

Having spent a portion of my youth being raised Jehovah’s Witness, Jehovah’s Witnesses stand out in a crowd to me. When visiting a friend in Brooklyn Heights. Very close to where the Watchtower is headquartered, I commented to my friend about how many of them were walking all around us. She laughed at me telling me they were just business people on their way to work. So I’ve started pointing out that many were in family groups and that there were subtle things I couldn’t really describe but tried. Almost too put together, and smiling more than people on their way to work. 🤣moving at a slower pace. She later said to me “oh my god, they’re everywhere!”

"almost too nice" exmo here, that's something I still struggle with constantly. I've gotten so much better with my default fawning, however I found I don't really know how to make friends without just being the 'super nice girl.'

Yea, the Mormons came to my house once, my dad invited them in, I told them not to do it . They left, running . my dad was trying to convert them he was southern Baptist. They didn’t have a chance .

I had a coworker who gave me an extremely weird vibe and I could not figure out what it was that icked me out. Of course I was still kind to him and didn't judge him, there was just something deeply unsettling about him.

Then I discovered he was Mormon and he tried to get me to go to a Mormon barbeque. Everything made sense then. Still not going to judge him because he seemed friendly enough, and I understand why he seemed different because he probably didn't have a lot of experience interacting with non Mormons.

But yes, he had the "Mormon look"

I used to work with a Mormon. He was one of the nicest, most helpful and nonjudgmental person I have ever met. A great example for his faith to the point that it almost made me want to look into it because I wanted to be a better person. He and his family were all just such good people. He was a good Paramedic and a great partner to work but more importantly, he was an awesome friend. If you every read this Darrell, you are a King amongst men👍

Super hyper friendly when they think they can convert you. When they realize you are not interested then they are cold as ice.

“Almost too nice”

Yeah, most cult members who are trying to recruit more cult members typically are a little bit too nice

I had an ex Mormon hairdresserer once. She said she left because she read her bible!
